The Central Luzon Regional Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Team (RNMET) recently conducted the final deliberation for the 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol (MELLPI Pro) Regional Local Nutrition Focal Points (LNFPs) on August 17, 2026 via Zoom Platform.

The deliberation served as a venue to present and review the results of the MELLPI Pro Regional LNFP validation visits conducted across five (5) provinces and eleven (11) cities in Central Luzon from 2 June to 13 August 2026.

The team discussed the Summary of Learning and Action Discussions for each LNFP, highlighting notable practices, key observations, challenges, and recommendations identified during the validation visits. The scores and rankings of the Regional Outstanding LNFPs were also presented to recognize nutrition focal points who demonstrated commendable performance, commitment, and practices in supporting the implementation and monitoring of local nutrition programs.

The activity highlights the valuable contributions of LNFPs in strengthening local nutrition program implementation and promoting continuous improvement in nutrition efforts across Central Luzon.

Fourteen (14) Provincial and City Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars (OBNSs) from Central Luzon took the Regional Outstanding BNS (ROBNS) Examination on August 13, 2026, at the Ephatha Development Center, SACOP, Brgy. Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The written examination is part of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro for BNSs and accounts for 20% of the overall evaluation score. The remaining 80% comes from the MELLPI Pro assessment (70%) and interview (10%).

The BNS with the highest overall score of at least 90%, as deliberated by the Central Luzon Regional Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Team (RNMET), will be named the 2025 ROBNS and recognized during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) in November. The 2025 ROBNS will also have the opportunity to compete for the National Outstanding BNS (NOBNS) Award, subject to evaluation by the National Nutrition Evaluation Team (NNET).

NNC RO III continues to support and empower BNSs through sustained technical assistance and recognition of their invaluable contributions to advancing nutrition and building healthier communities across Central Luzon.
