DEPED REGION VIII AND SSS STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP FOR THE WELFARE OF EDUCATION PERSONNEL

The Department of Education Regional Office VIII and the Social Security System (SSS) strengthened their commitment to serve and protect DepEd Region 8 personnel by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, Regional Director of DepEd Region VIII, participated in the MOA signing, along with representatives from the Social Security System (SSS), marking another significant step toward closer collaboration between the two institutions.

For RD Jimenez, taking care of its people goes beyond providing opportunities for professional growth. It also means creating partnerships that contribute to their financial security, social protection, and overall well-being.

The Social Security System (SSS) Tacloban Branch successfully executed its 6th Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operation on August 25, 2026.

The team visited 6 employers during the operation:

🛑 3 Delinquent Employers: Issued notices for failing to remit employee contributions.

📋 3 Coverable Employers: Inspected to ensure proper SSS registration and coverage for their workers.

The Goal: This operation serves as a strict reminder to all business owners of their statutory obligations under the law. SSS is committed to protecting workers' rights and securing their social security benefits.

🚨 RUN AFTER CONTRIBUTION EVADERS: SSS Tacloban holds 4th & 5th RACE Operations 🚨

The Social Security System (SSS) Tacloban Branch successfully conducted its 4th and 5th Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operations last July 17 and July 28, 2026.

This operation serves as a stern reminder to all non-compliant employers regarding their statutory obligations under Republic Act 11199 (Social Security Act of 2018). Employers are legally mandated to register their businesses, report their employees, and remit their staff's hard-earned social security contributions on time.

Protecting workers' rights and securing their future remains our top priority. Non-compliant employers are highly encouraged to visit the SSS Tacloban branch immediately to settle their delinquency and avoid legal prosecution.
