|| Nakarating sa National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) ang kumakalat na balitang papayagan na ang pagbebenta ng Indian Buffalo Meat (IBM) sa wet markets. 𝗜𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜 𝗧𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗢 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗡.

Ayon sa DA Administrative Circular No. 12, s. 2015, ang IBM ay para lamang sa mga accredited Meat Importer-Processors (MIPs) at 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗽𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀.

Ang mga lalabag ay maaaring maharap sa pagkumpiska ng produkto, pagpapataw ng multa, pagsuspinde o pagkansela ng permit o lisensya, at iba pang kaukulang parusa alinsunod sa Implementing Rules and Regulations ng RA 9296, na inamyendahan ng RA 10536, at iba pang kaugnay na regulatory issuances.

Ang lahat ng legal na IBM ay dumaraan sa mahigpit na inspeksyon, laboratory testing, at heat treatment upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng produkto.

Walang pagbabago sa umiiral na patakaran ng NMIS hinggil sa pag-import, paggamit, at pagbebenta ng IBM.

𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Meat Import and Export Section (MIES) of the National Meat Inspection Service – Regional Technical Operations Center VIII Eastern Visayas (NMIS RTOC 8 ) successfully conducted the Annual Meeting for Cold Storage Warehouse Operators, Brokers, and Traders across the region on May 26, 2026, at the NMIS Conference Room in Palo, Leyte.

Dr. Eduardo Glendon A. Alvarez, Regional Technical Director, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the meeting as a venue for stakeholders to raise and address current concerns that are timely and relevant to meat safety. He also highlighted the importance of complying with provisions on sampling rooms.

MIES head, Dr. Casillano, discussed key topics including documentary requirements, protocols for adverse findings, and the latest food safety concerns in cold storage facilities across the region. He also emphasized the inspection checklist for cold storage warehouses, common findings observed during monitoring activities, and the importance of submitting accurate weekly and monthly reports.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment between NMIS and the operators to collaboratively promote and implement good practices in ensuring meat safety and quality. Participants expressed appreciation for the valuable information shared during the session.
