Opening of Candidacy and Schedule of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Elections for
School Year 2026–2027

In line with the Department of Education’s policy on student leadership and governance, this Office hereby announces the opening of candidacy and the schedule of activities for the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Elections for School Year 2026-2027.

I. QUALIFICATIONS FOR SSLG CANDIDATES

All aspiring SSLG candidates must meet the following requirements:
-Must be an officially enrolled student for the current school year and and will continue to attend the same school in the succeeding school year.

2. Must be in good academic standing with no failing grades

3.Must be of good moral character

4. Must have no major disciplinary record

5. Must be willing to serve and represent the student body

6. Must submit complete candidacy requirements

II. PERKS OF BEING AN SSLG OFFICER

- Development of leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

-Representation of the student body in school-related matters

-Active participation in planning and implementation of school programs and activities
Issuance of certificates and leadership recognition

-Advantage for future leadership opportunities and scholarships

-Collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and fellow student leaders

III. IMPORTANT DATES AND ACTIVITIES

a. Filing of Candidacy: January 26–27, 2026, until 12:00 noon

b. Screening of Candidates: January 27, 2026, afternoon

c. Campaign Period: January 28–29, 2026

d. Election Day: January 30, 2026

The SSLG election process shall be administered by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) headed by Chalester Serote.

All interested and qualified learners are encouraged to participate and support a fair, orderly, and honest SSLG election.

Baluan National High School Grade 12 HUMSS students have officially started their Work Immersion Program at the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Palimbang. Before their deployment to their respective offices, the students joined the flag-raising ceremony together with the municipal employees—an inspiring start that welcomed them into the culture of public service.

They are now assigned to various offices where they will gain hands-on experience and exposure to real workplace settings:

1. Municipal Planning & Development Office – 2 students

2. Office of the Municipal Treasury – 3 students
Municipal Assessor’s Office – 6 students

3. Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) – 5 students

4. Municipal Accounting Office – 1 student

5. General Services Office (GSO) – 2 students

This deployment provides our students with the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge, develop workplace skills, and appreciate the importance of public service.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the LGU Palimbang Headed by Honorable Mayor Myrna C. Kapina and Honorable Vice Mayor Joenime Kapina for warmly welcoming our students and supporting their journey toward professional growth and community service.
