VACC and NBI Forge Stronger Alliance Against Crime and Corruption
The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC), led by Founding Chairman and President Arsenio "Boy" Evangelista, Jr., and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) under the leadership of Director Atty. Melvin "MAMBA" A. Matibag, formally strengthened their partnership in the fight against crime and corruption during a meeting held today, April 27, 2026, at the NBI Central Office in Pasay City.
This renewed alliance underscores the shared commitment of civil society and law enforcement to intensify collaborative efforts in safeguarding communities, advancing transparency, and ensuring accountability in governance. The initiative is aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who has consistently called for stronger public-private collaboration to eradicate crime and corruption and to uphold responsive, people-centered governance.
Director Matibag emphasized the importance of unity in this mission:
“Ang laban kontra krimen at korapsyon ay hindi lamang tungkulin ng NBI kundi responsibilidad nating lahat. Sa pakikipagtulungan ng VACC, mas lalo nating mapapalakas ang ating kampanya para sa mas ligtas at mas maayos na lipunan,” said Director Matibag.
Evangelista, for his part, reaffirmed VACC’s role as a vigilant partner of government institutions, stressing that civil society must remain proactive in ensuring justice and accountability.
By working hand in hand, VACC and NBI aim to strengthen public trust and deliver concrete results in building a safer, more accountable Philippines—an effort firmly rooted in the President’s call for integrity, transparency, and genuine service to the Filipino people.
