National Women's Month Celebration 2026
Every year in the Philippines, the month of March is dedicated to honoring the invaluable contributions of women in shaping society. In line with this national celebration, Paluan Central School proudly joins the observance of National Women’s Month by conducting a series of meaningful activities that recognize the achievements of women and promote gender equality, women empowerment, and inclusivity within the school community.
This celebration is strongly anchored on important legal foundations that uphold the rights and welfare of women. One of these is Republic Act No. 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women, which guarantees the protection of women’s rights and affirms the State’s commitment to gender equality. It ensures that women are given equal opportunities in education, employment, leadership, and other areas of development. Another significant basis is Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, which officially declares the month of March as National Women’s Role in History Month. This proclamation highlights the important roles women have played in the country’s history and nation-building. Furthermore, relevant issuances from the Philippine Commission on Women encourage all government agencies, including the Department of Education, to actively participate in the nationwide celebration, strengthening the call for gender-responsive programs and activities.
At Paluan Central School, the celebration will officially begin on Monday, March 2, 2026, during the Flag Ceremony. This opening activity will set the tone for a month-long reflection on the importance of respecting, empowering, and supporting women in all sectors of society. As a symbol of unity and solidarity, all teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as learners, are encouraged to wear violet-colored attire on this day. Violet is internationally recognized as the color symbolizing justice, dignity, and women’s equality. Wearing this color signifies the school community’s shared commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, is valued and respected.
Through forums, classroom discussions, creative contests, and recognition programs, the school aims to deepen learners’ understanding of gender equality and inspire them to become advocates of respect and fairness. By celebrating National Women’s Month, Paluan Central School not only honors the remarkable achievements of women but also strengthens its dedication to building a community where equal rights, opportunities, and voices are upheld for all.
Indeed, the observance of National Women’s Month is more than a celebration—it is a reaffirmation of the school’s commitment to justice, empowerment, and inclusivity. Through collective participation and meaningful activities, Paluan Central School stands united in promoting a future where gender equality is not just an ideal, but a lived reality.
