The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Nueva Vizcaya Field Office is currently conducting a Provincial Consultation on Labor Market Information (LMI) at Amungan Hall, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The activity brings together 43 representatives from industries and business establishments, educational institutions and training providers, and partner National Government Agencies to strengthen collaboration in addressing employment and skills development needs.

The seminar aims to provide participants with current labor market trends, in-demand occupations, emerging industry requirements, and employment opportunities to help guide career planning, workforce development, and informed decision-making.

Through this activity, DOLE continues to promote employment facilitation and strengthen linkages among key stakeholders toward a more responsive and competitive workforce in Nueva Vizcaya. #ℳℳ𝓒𝓐 📸MDDF/JVC

DOLE inspects Nueva Vizcaya mining firm, contractors amid closure phase

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — The Department of Labor and Employment inspected a mining company and its contractors in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya to help ensure continued compliance with labor and occupational safety standards as the firm undergoes its transition and closure phase.

The DOLE-Nueva Vizcaya Field Office conducted the four-day General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health inspection at FCF Minerals Corporation from May 12 to 15, covering both the principal company and several contractors operating within the mine site.

The inspection was conducted upon the request of the company, which sought to verify whether labor standards, safety measures, and regulatory requirements remained properly implemented as operations wind down.

Labor Inspector Alexander V. Garcia II assessed compliance with wage and benefit standards, labor documentation, occupational safety and health programs, workplace health requirements, and other measures related to workers’ welfare.

Based on the inspection, most contractors were found compliant with labor standards and occupational safety and health requirements. However, Garcia noted two findings involving compliance with Department Order No. 174, series of 2017, which governs contracting and subcontracting arrangements.

Garcia also noted a concern involving the Alien Employment Permit (AEP) of one worker employed by a contractor.

He said the concerned parties committed to address the findings, including the compliance requirements involving contractor registration and the AEP concern.

Garcia said the inspection was intended to assist both employers and workers in ensuring that lawful employment practices and safe working conditions are maintained even during business transition or closure.

He emphasized that compliance with labor laws remains a continuing responsibility of employers and contractors, particularly in workplaces where several entities operate within one site. #

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A total of 286 micro-establishments (MEs) in Nueva Vizcaya attended a series of Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) orientations conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment – Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO).

The MEs that participated in the TAV sessions held on various dates in April and May 2026 came from Kasibu, Bambang, Aritao, Bagabag, and Santa Fe.

The orientations covered General Labor Standards, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, payment of wages and mandatory benefits, 13th month pay, overtime compensation, leave privileges, social protection coverage, basic OSH practices, and first aid orientation.

DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office Head Elizabeth U. Martinez said the activity helps employers better understand their responsibilities to workers.

“Sa pamamagitan ng TAV at OSH orientations, mas napapalakas natin ang kaalaman ng mga negosyante sa tamang pagtrato at pangangalaga sa kanilang mga manggagawa,” Martinez said.
Martinez also urged employers to continue observing labor standards and workplace safety requirements.

“Ang layunin ng TAV ay gabayan ang ating mga micro-establishments upang mas mapalakas ang pagsunod sa labor laws at mapanatili ang ligtas at maayos na lugar-paggawa para sa lahat,” she added.

Santa Fe PESO Manager Jack Denver Ordonio thanked DOLE for conducting the orientation for local business owners.

“On behalf of the Local Government Unit of Santa Fe, we extend our sincere appreciation for conducting this timely orientation. Programs like this greatly help our micro-establishments become more informed, compliant, and responsible employers,” Ordonio said.

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A total of 112 micro-establishment owners and representatives participated in the Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) orientation conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment – Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO) at the Regional Evacuation Center in Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya on May 21, 2026.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness on labor laws and workplace safety among micro-establishments. Participants were oriented on General Labor Standards (GLS), workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, basic Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) practices and first aid orientation.

PESO Manager Jack Denver Ordonio expressed his gratitude to DOLE for bringing the program closer to the business sector in the municipality. “In behalf of the Local Government Unit of Santa Fe, we extend our sincere appreciation for conducting this timely orientation. Programs like this greatly help our micro-establishments become more informed, compliant, and responsible employers,” Ordonio said.

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — The Department of Labor and Employment – Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO) continued its implementation of the Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program, reaching 174 micro-establishment owners from the municipalities of Kasibu, Bambang, Aritao, and Bagabag.

The activity is part of DOLE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen labor standards compliance and promote safer and more productive workplaces among small business establishments throughout the province.

Through the TAV program, participants were provided with practical guidance on labor laws, workers’ welfare, and employer obligations. Discussions focused on key labor-related concerns, including payment of wages and mandatory benefits, 13th month pay, overtime compensation, leave privileges, and social protection coverage.

Participants were also oriented on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) practices to help ensure safe working environments for employees and First Aid Orientation to provide employers with the necessary knowledge and guidance on the proper actions during emergency.

This activity highlights the importance of voluntary compliance, especially among developing enterprises, emphasizing that adherence to labor standards contributes to stronger business operations and improved employer-employee relations.
The participating business owners welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the continued support and technical assistance being extended by DOLE to micro-establishments in various municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya.

Field Office Head Elizabeth U. Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya — From a humble coffee shop to a thriving community enterprise, Kapeterya celebrated its 6th anniversary last April 2026, a success made possible through the support of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Adjustment Measures Program (AMP).

Owner and manager Ms. Monaliza Amoguis shared that the assistance from DOLE-AMP in 2024 was a turning point for their operations. The café has experienced substantial growth, reaching more customers and expanding its capabilities.
