Programs of Waste Diversion
1. Accreditation of registered junkshops as official collector of recyclable wastes.
2. Partnership of junkshops for hauling and diversion of the recyclable wastes.
3. Enact ordinance requiring households and non-households for regulate composting of biodegradable wastes.
4. Creation of Task Force for the enforcement and monitoring of the compliance of the households sources.
5. Adoption and implementation of Municipal Ordinance to the Barangay Level.
6. Rehabilitation/ expansion of Central MRF with additional personnel for composting, recyclable and residual composting wastes sorting/management
7. Conduct intensive IEC Campaign in every barangay in collaboration with schools, religious sector, transport group market vendors and others stakeholders.
8. Installation of waste receptacles for biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes.
9. Incentive programs for best SWM Practices in the municipality.
10. Conduct seminars/trainings on alternative technologies for waste diversion.
11. Explore possibilities for partnership on cluster waste to Energy Technology/Facility of Establishment of category 1Municipal SLF.
12. Capacity Building through seminars/field exposure/trainings on alternative technologies for waste diversion and SWM.
13. Partnership with farmers and other groups for the use of soil conditioners.
14. Enforcement of penalties/fines and fees to violator’s –polluter’s pay.
