*A Proud Moment for Negros Oriental*
Last year, U.S. Ambassador MaryKay Carlson visited Baslay Highland Brew Coffee in Dauin, a thriving mountain cafรฉ and coffee farm managed by the Baslay Highland Agriculture Cooperative (BASHACO).
The visit highlighted the remarkable efforts of local coffee farmers and entrepreneurs who continue to elevate the quality and reputation of Negros Orientalโs homegrown coffee industry. Through sustainable farming practices and community-driven enterprise, Baslay Highland Brew Coffee has become a shining example of how local agriculture can create meaningful livelihoods while promoting responsible tourism.
Ambassador Carlsonโs visit brought international attention to Baslay as an emerging agri-tourism destination and underscored the importance of supporting local enterprises that contribute to economic growth, cultural pride, and community development.
The Negros Oriental Provincial Tourism Board is honored to have shared the provinceโs rich coffee culture, breathtaking highland landscapes, and warm hospitality with a distinguished international guest. Moments like these inspire us to continue promoting Negros Oriental as a destination where agriculture, tourism, and community thrive together.
