LOOK | On May 25, 2026, the Food Redemption Activity of the Walang Gutom Program was successfully conducted in Marhil, Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
One of the beneficiaries was Nanay Magdalena, an 85-year-old resident of Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental. She is among the 2,493 beneficiaries of the Walang Gutom Program in Bago City.
As a widowed mother, Nanay Magdalena shared how difficult life has been for their family. She currently depends on her son Edgar, a laborer who is also supporting his three children. Because of their situation, the assistance provided through the Walang Gutom Program has become a great help and source of hope for their family.
The joy and gratitude shown by Nanay Magdalena reflect the true purpose of the program, to extend care, support, and relief to vulnerable families in the community.
This initiative forms part of the continuing efforts of the Walang Gutom Program, in line with the vision of President Ferdinand โBongbongโ Marcos Jr. to ensure that every Filipino family has access to sufficient food and proper nutrition education.
