Na-stranded ang maraming manggagawa, estudyante, at magulang dahil sa lagpas-tuhod hanggang taas-tiyang baha malapit sa De Los Santos Medical Center. Gumamit ang ilan ng styrofoam raft at sumakay sa mga truck para makatawid.

CLASSES SHIFT TO ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES IN 13 AREAS

Schools in Metro Manila and 12 provinces will implement alternative learning modes for all levels on Monday, August 17, the Presidential Communications Office said.

The measure covers NCR, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon and Occidental Mindoro.

Government offices in these areas will also adopt alternative work arrangements starting 12 noon.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 17

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 127, government offices are directed to shift to appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces starting 12:00 noon on August 17, 2026:

📍 National Capital Region (NCR)
📍 Zambales
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Cavite
📍 Batangas
📍 Rizal
📍 Laguna
📍 Quezon
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.
