Barangay Igualdad, Naga City

Ipinababatid sa publiko na ang ating mga Barangay Tanod, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Naga City Police Office – Police Station 1, NAGA CPO sa pamumuno ni Police Captain Rowena Lim, ay patuloy na nagsasagawa ng araw-araw na operasyon upang matiyak ang kaligtasan at seguridad ng komunidad.

Kabilang sa kanilang mga tungkulin ang pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan, mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng curfew para sa mga menor de edad alinsunod sa umiiral na Barangay at City Ordinance, at ang regular na pagsasagawa ng checkpoint operations.

Ang mga gawaing ito ay pinangungunahan ni PB Angelo Romano Bendiola sa Barangay Igualdad bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagpapatibay ng kaayusan at disiplina sa ating pamayanan.

Alinsunod sa DILG Memorandum Circular kaugnay ng pagpapatupad ng mga programang pangkalinisan at kaayusan sa barangay, atin pong pormal na in-activate ang Barangay Organization para sa Kalinigan sa Barangay Program sa pamamagitan ng Barangay People’s Council ngayong araw.

Ang itinalagang grupo ay pinangungunahan ng Sanggawadan, sa pamumuno ni President Myla Baldemoro Ricafort, katuwang ang ating mga masisipag na miyembro. Layunin ng programang ito na masiguro ang tuloy-tuloy na pagpapatupad ng β€œTungod mo, Linig mo” advocacy, gayundin ang mahigpit na pagsunod sa City Ordinance at Barangay Ordinance laban sa pagtatapon ng basura kung saan-saan (Bawal Kalat).

In line with our continuing commitment to protect and preserve the environment, the Barangay Environmental Enforcers of Barangay Igualdad, together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), conducted an inspection of business establishments within the barangay.

This activity aims to ensure strict compliance with environmental laws and barangay ordinances, particularly on proper solid waste management, sanitation standards, and pollution control measures. It also promotes responsible business practices that contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community.

IMPORTANCE OF THE ACTIVITY:

* Ensures compliance with environmental rules and regulations
* Promotes proper waste segregation and disposal
* Prevents pollution and protects public health
* Strengthens discipline among business establishments
* Supports sustainable barangay development

LEGAL BASIS:

* Republic Act 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991) – grants LGUs and barangays authority to enforce laws necessary for general welfare, including environmental protection
* Republic Act 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000) – mandates proper segregation, collection, and disposal of solid waste
* Republic Act 8749 (Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999) – ensures prevention and control of air pollution
* Barangay Ordinances of Barangay Igualdad – local laws enforcing environmental compliance, sanitation standards, and penalties for violations

Through this initiative, we strengthen cooperation between the barangay, CENRO, and business owners in upholding environmental responsibility and community welfare.

Today’s final inspection of the Barangay Hall was conducted by engineers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), together with the Committee on Infrastructure headed by Kgd. Esmeraldo David.

The inspection ensured that the facility meets the required standards before its official turnover. During the evaluation, minor retouching of paint was recommended to further improve the overall appearance and finish of the structure.

This process highlights the importance of quality assurance in public infrastructure projects, ensuring durability, safety, and better service for the community.
