The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation-Regional Office 6 in partnership with LGU Nabas released indemnity payments to 54 farmer-beneficiaries from different barangays in Nabas on Thursday, June 16,2026 as part of the agency’s continuing effort to provide financial assistance to insured farmers affected by crop losses.

The indemnity payment is intended to help farmers recover from production losses and sustain their agricultural activities amid various farming risks and natural calamities.

PCIC officials underscored the importance of agricultural insurance in protecting farmers’ investments and ensuring the continuity of food production in vulnerable farming communities.

The agency likewise encouraged more farmers to avail themselves of crop insurance coverage to strengthen their resilience against unforseen agricultural losses.

LGU- Nabas thru the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist/ Nabas FITS Center conducted this activity on May 11, 2026 to recognize the hardwork, sacrifices and uplift the lives of our local producers. By celebrating this activity, we affirm our commitment under Magna carta for Small Farmers and Fisherfolk's Code. It is not a day of gratitude but also a call to action, ensure that those who feed the nation will not go hungry themselves.

One of the objectives of the activity is to honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of our farmers and fisherfolk as well as the unwavering performance of Nabas AEWS as implementers of various Banner Programs of the Department of Agriculture.
