Academic leaders of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) convened today, June 2, 2026, at the Academic Affairs Amphitheater for the Regular Meeting of the Council of Deans presided over by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco.

The meeting is attended by college and office deans, heads of units under the Academic Affairs Program, University Supreme Student Council Acting Chairperson Mr. Kristan James G. Cornel, Federation of Graduate Student Association representative Ms. Gwendalyn Marie D. Orzame, and Faculty Association, Inc. (FAI) President Assoc. Prof. Jeorge Dela Cruz.

Among the key agenda items being discussed are the revision and refinement of the Academic Affairs Program Manual of Operations to align its provisions with the updated University Code and Organizational Structure.

Through collaborative discussions, council members are reviewing existing policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure that the manual remains relevant and responsive to the university's current governance and academic framework.

As the university's academic governing body, the Academic Affairs Council plays a vital role in shaping policies and initiatives that support academic excellence and institutional effectiveness. The ongoing review of the Manual of Operations reflects the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs' commitment to strengthening organizational processes and enhancing the delivery of academic services across the university.

The Special Meeting of the Council of Deans and Heads under Academic Affairs was convened today, May 8, 2026, via Zoom as part of the University’s Work From Home arrangement. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University, in preparation for the University Academic Council Meeting scheduled on May 11, 2026.

Present during the meeting were the deans of the different colleges, heads of offices under Academic Affairs, faculty representatives, and student representatives.

The Council of Deans continues to serve as a collaborative platform that brings together academic leaders, faculty, and student representatives in support of the University’s academic operations and initiatives.

LOOK | CLSU Ascends to 83rd in WURI 2026 Global Rankings; 10 Innovative Projects Secure Top Spots

Soaring to new heights in the global academic landscape, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) ascended to the 83rd spot in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. This jump from its 118th rank last year marks the university’s highest placement since the ranking's inception.

The 2026 results highlight CLSU’s consistency in delivering impactful solutions, with 10 distinct entries securing positions across diverse categories.

Leading the university’s impressive haul is the "Solar-Powered University" initiative, which ranked 2nd globally for Infrastructure and Technology. Close behind is the "Guardians of the Grain" biosensor initiative, which earned 3rd place in Representative Research Projects.

Below are the other ranked CLSU entries and their respective categories:

• Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program: From Research to Revenue through University-Based Technology Business Incubation and SEEDS OF ENTERPRISE: Transforming University Rice Innovation into Sustainable Agribusiness which ranked 4th in the University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects category
• Project RICE: Responding to the Impacts of Crises and Emergencies which ranked 13th in the Crisis Management category
• PROPRE BOOST: A Scalable University–Industry Biotech Collaboration Turning Agricultural Waste into High-Value Commercial Probiotics which ranked 14th in the Industrial Application category
• Futures Thinking for Sustainable Communities: Integrating ESG-Based Strategies and SDG-Aligned Innovations for Resilience and Adaptation which ranked 16th in the SDG- and ESG-Based Responses to Global Challenges category
• PROJECT H.O.P.E: Igniting Hope, Transcending Opportunities, Providing Support, and Empowering People for Societal Success which ranked 23rd in the Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved category
• Scaling Agricultural Intelligence: University Knowledge Transfer Driving Sustainable Goat and Dairy Systems which ranked 40th in the Social Impact through Knowledge Transfer category
• Student-Led One-Health Culture: Rural Anti-Rabies Vaccination for Community Protection which ranked 55th in the Culture/Values category

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Central Luzon State University is currently holding its Regular Academic Affairs Council Meeting today, April 21, 2026, at the Academic Affairs Amphitheater.

Presided over by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the meeting serves as a key platform for deliberation and decision-making on matters related to graduation and other academic concerns.

The session brings together deans and heads of academic units, alongside faculty and student representatives, including Assoc. Prof. Jeorge M. Dela Cruz, Ms. Aljone V. Viterbo of the University Supreme Student Council, and Ms. Gemimah Kate Gutierrez of the Federation of Graduate Student Association.

As a collaborative body, the Council fosters inclusive dialogue, ensuring that academic policies and decisions reflect the collective insights of administrators, faculty, and students.

Through this regular convening, the Academic Affairs Council continues to strengthen participatory governance within the University, reinforcing its commitment to responsive, transparent, and well-informed academic leadership.

Congratulations to BSIT OJT students Gian Fritz P. Mangalindan and Charles Jeremy Berza on successfully completing their internship at the library. Under the guidance of the Multimedia Services team led by Mr. Ian Panahon, their key achievement was the revision of the CLSU-LISO Attendance Monitoring System—a direct and comprehensive upgrade to its predecessor. Leveraging the TALL stack (Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire), they implemented reactive full-stack solution designed to optimize staff workflows and significantly enhance user-friendliness for students.

Their knowledge and expertise have made a meaningful impact on library services. The library is truly grateful for their commitment and has confidence that they will be successful in their professional careers.

Recognition is also given to student assistants Marjori Pila and Wilfred Neal Bernardo for their dedication and hard work.
