In line with the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 with the them”Naghahanda ag kumikilos tungo sa panatag na bagong Pilipinas" the Local Government Unit of Montevista, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully conducted the Three-Day Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Training on July 22–24, 2026, at the Agriculture Building, SWIP I, Linoan, Montevista, Davao de Oro.
The training enhanced the knowledge, skills, and operational readiness of participants in the activation, management, coordination, and operation of the Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and disaster response operations. The sessions were facilitated by instructors from the Office of Civil Defense Regional Office XI (OCD XI), with resource persons from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Panabo, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Davao del Norte, and the Local Government Unit of Mabini.
A highlight of the final day of the training was the visit of Office of Civil Defense Regional Office XI Regional Director Ednar G. Dayanghirang. In his message, he emphasized the importance of strengthening local disaster preparedness, coordination, and emergency response capabilities. His presence and inspiring words reinforced the importance of preparedness, collaboration, and strong leadership in protecting lives and building resilient communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Cyrex L. Basalo, Municipal Mayor, and the Sangguniang Bayan Members for their unwavering support and commitment to strengthening the municipality's disaster risk reduction and management initiatives. Their continued support empowers the MDRRMO to deliver quality, timely, and appropriate actions before, during, and after emergencies and disasters.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to all the Department Heads, National Government Agencies, and LGU personnel who actively participated in and successfully completed the three-day training.
Today, we proudly present the 29 personnel of the LGU of Montevista who successfully completed the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Training. Your dedication to learning and commitment to public service strengthen our municipality's capacity to respond effectively, coordinate efficiently, and provide better services to our communities during emergencies and disasters.
This training would not have been possible without the leadership, guidance, and unwavering support of our MDRRMO Head, Engr. Jerrienol C. Alquiza, whose commitment to capacity development continues to strengthen the disaster resilience of the Municipality of Montevista.
