General Information

The Municipality of Mercedes lies along the eastern part of Camarines Norte. The northern part of which faces the Pacific Ocean while the eastern part is bound by San Miguel Bay. Its neighboring towns are Daet and Basud, located west of the municipality. Fishery plays a significant role in the economic activity of Mercedes, being the largest fishing bowl in the Bicol Region. N

ature has graciously favoured this progressive community with vast and rich fishing grounds. Fish merchants from the neighbouring towns and nearby Tagalog provinces regularly visit Mercedes to purposely engage in the profitable fish trading business.

BLESSED SUNDAY: Meet this unique fish (Opah fish), πΏπ‘Žπ‘šπ‘π‘Ÿπ‘–π‘  π‘”π‘’π‘‘π‘‘π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘  locally known as "Diana" a warm-blooded fish and weighing about 68.0kg or 51.5cm long. It is fished in Pacific Ocean by commercial fishing using handline and landed at the Port of Mercedes (Pandawan) earlier today.

Oh wow hats off to the Brgy Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of Brgy. Tarum for making this rest area look happy and colorful! They made use of eco bricks (plastic bottles filled with cutout plastics) in lieu of hollow blocks. Not only are they health frontliners but environmental frontliners as well! β€οΈπŸ™πŸ’ͺ
