📸 PHOTO UPDATE | BLISS FIRE INCIDENT

Following the ongoing fire incident at the San Jacinto Municipal Dump Site in Sitio Bliss, Brgy. Burgos, responders conducted a final operational plan briefing led by the Incident Commander, Sir Diesta of BFP San Fernando and Engr. John Mark T. Dejumo.

Special thanks also to SJMC/SMDF Construction for the free use of their backhoe, which was utilized to spread and cover the burning waste with soil as part of the fire suppression efforts toward achieving TOTAL FIRE OUT.

A timely reminder to everyone: With the continuing dry conditions associated with El Niño, let us all remain extra vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent fire incidents—especially in densely populated communities and areas with light-material housing.

Through cooperation, coordination, and collective action, we continue to protect our communities and prevent emergencies from escalating.

ONGOING FIRE INCIDENT UPDATE | SAN JACINTO MUNICIPAL DUMP SITE

A fire incident was reported at around 6:00 PM yesterday, September 5, 2026, at the San Jacinto Municipal Dump Site located in Sitio Bliss, Brgy. Burgos, San Jacinto, Masbate.

As of this posting, the fire is still ongoing, with continuous response and monitoring operations being conducted.

For the safety of nearby residents, 9 families, including children and senior citizens, were evacuated to the Municipal Evacuation Center.

Fire suppression and response operations are being supported by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel from the nearby municipalities of Monreal and San Fernando, in coordination with local responders and concerned agencies.

Residents are advised to remain calm, stay away from the affected area, and follow official instructions.

Further updates will be posted as the situation develops.

🚨PUBLIC ADVISORY | POSSIBLE TRANSBOUNDARY HAZE

The MDRRMO San Jacinto advises the public to remain vigilant following reports of transboundary haze from ongoing forest and land fires in Indonesia, which may affect parts of the Philippines depending on prevailing winds and weather conditions.

🌫️ If hazy or smoky conditions are observed:

😷 Wear an appropriate face mask, preferably an N95.
🏠 Limit unnecessary outdoor activities.
👶 Take extra precautions for children, senior citizens, and persons with respiratory or heart conditions.
🚪 Keep doors and windows closed when smoke or haze is noticeable.

⚠️ MDRRMO San Jacinto continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with concerned agencies for official updates.

The public is advised to remain calm, stay informed, and follow only verified information from official government sources.

📢 MDRRMO SAN JACINTO | WEATHER ADVISORY

TROPICAL DEPRESSION “PILANDOK”
As of 5:00 AM, 31 August 2026

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of San Jacinto informs the public that Tropical Depression “PILANDOK” remains under monitoring by PAGASA.

As of 5:00 AM today, PILANDOK was located approximately 1,120 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. The tropical depression is currently moving almost stationary over the Philippine Sea. ([PAGASA][1])

🟢 NO TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNAL IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

However, PILANDOK may enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), which may bring increased rainfall and potentially hazardous weather conditions in affected areas. ([Philippine News Agency][2])

⚠️ ADVISORY TO THE PUBLIC

Residents, particularly those living in low-lying, flood-prone, landslide-prone, and coastal areas, are advised to:

✅ Stay updated through official PAGASA and MDRRMO advisories.
✅ Monitor changes in weather and local rainfall conditions.
✅ Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain.
✅ Secure loose objects and check the condition of your homes.
✅ Fisherfolk and small boat operators are advised to monitor coastal and sea conditions before proceeding to sea.
✅ Keep emergency go-bags, communication devices, medicines, food, water, and other essential supplies ready.
✅ Immediately report flooding, landslides, damaged infrastructure, or other emergencies to the appropriate authorities.

RESILIENCE DAY IN SITIO BINALIW

The Resilience Day: Vulnerability Assessment and Profiling Activity was successfully conducted in Sitio Binaliw, Barangay Burgos, San Jacinto, Masbate, bringing together government offices and partner agencies in a unified effort to better understand the needs, vulnerabilities, capacities, and priority concerns of the community.

Through a station-based vulnerability assessment and household profiling, the participating households were assessed across key areas of social welfare, health and special assistance, livelihood and fisheries, environmental and settlement conditions, and disaster risk and preparedness.

This activity was made possible through the collective efforts of the:

🔴 Rural Health Unit (RHU)
🟢 Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO)
🟩 Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO)
