𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 2026 First Semester Meeting on Women Welfare Program Implementation

In line with its continued commitment to promoting women’s welfare and empowerment, the Provincial Government of Masbate, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), conducted the 2026 First Semester Meeting on Women Welfare Program Implementation on May 29, 2026, at Bam’s Resto Bar, JM Robredo Extension, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Masbate City. The activity was held under the leadership of Hon. Atty. Richard Kho, Governor, and Hon. Fernando P. Talisic, Vice Governor.

Present during the meeting were Ms. Amie Marie E. Castillo, RSW, OIC-PSWDO; Social Welfare Officers I Mr. Marc Thom Sanchez Atabay, RSW and Mr. Pedrito Celon, RSW; Ms. Martina Louisse G. Serote, RSW, Regional Program Coordinator; Mr. Hanzil A. Buendia, Social Welfare Officer II; and Mr. Erickson A. Ibañez, Project Development Officer II of the DSWD PAG-ABOT Region V. Also in attendance were the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), Women Welfare Program Focal Persons, and KALIPI Municipal Presidents from the different municipalities and the lone city of the province.

The meeting served as a venue for discussing important updates, strengthening coordination among stakeholders, and aligning local initiatives related to the implementation of women-centered programs and services. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration among women’s organizations, local government units, and partner agencies in advancing programs that uphold the welfare, participation, and empowerment of women in the province.

Among the significant matters discussed during the activity was the orientation on the DSWD Field Office 5 - Bicol Region PAG-ABOT Program, including its proposed implementation at the local level and its relevance in addressing the needs of vulnerable sectors in the community.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 2026 1st Semester Meeting of Senior Citizens Program Stakeholders

The Provincial Government of Masbate, headed by Hon. Atty. Richard Kho, Governor, and Hon. Fernando P. Talisic, Vice Governor, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), successfully conducted the 2026 1st Semester Meeting of C/MSWDOs, Senior Citizens Program Focals, OSCAs, and MFSCAP Presidents on May 28, 2026, at Bam’s Resto Bar, JM Robredo Ext., Brgy. Bagumbayan, Masbate City.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Amie Marie E. Castillo, RSW, OIC-PSWDO, together with the two Social Welfare Officers I, Ms. Eden Flores, RSW, from the NCSC Regional Office and her staff, as well as the C/MSWDOs, Senior Citizens Program Focals, OSCAs, and MFSCAP Presidents from the different municipalities and the lone city of the province.

The activity served as a venue for strengthening collaboration and discussing important updates and concerns relative to the implementation of the Expanded Centenarian Act Program (RA 11982), including MC 02, Series of 2024, and MC 01, Series of 2025; emerging concerns on ECA implementation; self-adjudication; encoding in the online masterlist; presentation of paid and unpaid grantees; updating of centenarian grantees; and ECA funding compliance.

The meeting also covered the presentation of the amended CBL of MPFSCAI, the 2026 database of senior citizens, preparations for the Senior Citizens Congress, and other relevant matters aimed at enhancing programs and services for the welfare and protection of senior citizens in the province.
