🌾🌽 RICE AND CORN WEEK | AUGUST 29–SEPTEMBER 5

This Rice and Corn Week, we recognize the importance of rice and corn in providing food and livelihood to Filipino families and in supporting our agriculture and economy.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 304, s. 1964, issued by President Diosdado Macapagal on August 28, 1964, Rice and Corn Week is observed every year to promote greater appreciation of the importance of rice and corn production in the Philippines.

Let us also honor the hard work and dedication of our farmers who help nourish our nation. May we continue to support our local farmers and promote a strong, sustainable, and resilient agricultural sector.

Ang ARAW NG MGA BAYANI ay ginugunita tuwing huling Lunes ng Agosto. Ito ay panahon upang alalahanin at parangalan ang sakripisyo at kabayanihan ng mga Pilipinong naglingkod at nag-alay ng kanilang sarili para sa bayanβ€”mula sa mga bayani ng kasaysayan hanggang sa mga bayaning patuloy na naglilingkod sa kasalukuyan. 🫑

πŸ“– TRIVIA:

1. Bakit β€œhuling Lunes ng Agosto”?
Dati, ipinagdiriwang ang National Heroes Day tuwing Agosto 30. Sa bisa ng Republic Act No. 9492, na ipinasa noong 2007, itinakda ang National Heroes Day bilang huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang bahagi ng pagbabago ng ilang holiday dates sa ilalim ng holiday economics.

2. Hindi lang mga sikat ang bayani.
Oo, kilala natin sina Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, at Emilio Aguinaldo. Ngunit ang kabayanihan ay makikita rin sa mga g**o, nars, librarian, OFW, at ordinaryong Pilipinong patuloy na nagsisilbi at gumagawa ng mabuti para sa bayan. Kayo rin poβ€”mga lingkod-bayan at mamamayang patuloy na naglilingkod.

Ang pinakamagandang paggunita sa ating mga bayani ay ang pagpapatuloy ng kanilang adhikain sa pamamagitan ng edukasyon, pagmamahal sa bayan at wika, at paglilingkod sa kapwa. πŸ“–
