Seeing the actual hand tractor at work, its ease of usage, aside from its attractive appearance, resulted to successful field demos and invitations from other local government units to conduct the same in their area

s. Hand tractors have been in use for decades, helping farmers conveniently prepare their land for planting rice and other crops. But a lot of improvements could still be done to better equip the farmers, hence, the introduction of Sumo Plus, a highly improved version of the usual hand tractor. The design, manufacture and position of its belt and pulley are in accordance with international standards; providing better grip, longer belt life and fuel efficiency. It has two control levers to give operator the option to still use the typical clutch, while still getting used to the modern lever. Sumo Plus has also a belt stop for the operators’ safety, by allowing them to put the hand tractor on idle, without the need to disengage the belt from pulley, thereby, protecting the belt as well from quick wear and tear. From increased work output in land tilling, provided by a more efficient and technologically advanced Sumo Plus Hand Tractor, another farming equipment - the Sumo Plus Rice Reaper, was introduced. This rice reaper is an answer to the dwindling number of manual rice harvesters and their availability in case of immediacy of need, such as imminent typhoons, heavy rainfall and flooding. Manual harvesting would require 40 people to do the work in a 2-hectare rice field in 8 hours, which is equivalent to just one Sumo Plus rice Reaper and a single operator. That’s a big leap in terms of productivity, labor costs and prevention of losses; while also offering greater affordability compared to the prohibitive price of a complete harvester.
