𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐆𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐔𝐙𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄 — 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐔 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍! 🏆

Brains, teamwork, and composure took center stage as the 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 proudly made its mark at the 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻-𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄!

Among 𝟴𝟮 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨 representing 𝟰𝟭 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙇𝙪𝙯𝙤𝙣, SorSU Team B rose to the top and claimed the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲, bringing home the ₱𝟯𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 and, with it, a spot in the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 in Cebu.

The victory was made even more meaningful by the SorSU representatives who took on the challenge together. Alongside our champions, 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙎𝙐 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝘼, composed of 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙤 and 𝙅𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙯𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨, proudly carried the SorSU name throughout the competition.

Congratulations to our CE quizzers for once again proving that the 𝗖𝗘 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗦𝗨 can rise to any challenge. Your achievement reflects the discipline and determination that you brought to the competition.

𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗘 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟵, 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Two teams from the Civil Engineering program of Catanduanes State University (CatSU) represented the university in the Megachallenge Luzon-Wide Civil Engineering Quiz Show 2026 on September 26, with one team finishing in the Top 9 and the other advancing as a finalist.

CatSU Team A, composed of Hezronle P. Tabirao and Justine C. Tud, with Yves Kiel T. Sarmiento as alternate, secured a Top 9 finish in the competition.

Meanwhile, CatSU Team B, composed of Christian P. Chiva and Jam Mae E. Icaro, with Giankarlo Alexi A. Reyes as alternate, advanced to the finalist round.

The Luzon-wide competition brought together 42 schools, 81 teams, 62 coaches, and 206 participants, according to the event organizers.

The participating teams underwent a series of Civil Engineering-related challenges that tested their knowledge, preparation, teamwork, and ability to perform under pressure.

Engr. Melvyn McArthur R. Tating served as coach for the CatSU delegation.

The competition culminated with Sorsogon State University (SorSU) emerging as the top-ranked team with 72 overall points, followed by Divine Word College of Calapan with 32 points and the University of Camarines Norte with 22 points.

The participation marked CatSU’s representation in a Luzon-wide academic competition, with its student teams carrying the university’s name alongside participating institutions from across the region.
