Section 15 ng Republic Act No. 9165

6 Ang Section 15 ng Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 ay tumutukoy sa paggamit ng ipinagbabawal na gamot. Ang sinumang mapatunayang positibo sa paggamit ng dangerous drugs matapos sumailalim sa confirmatory test ay maaaring mapatawan ng kaparusahan. Sa unang paglabag, ang nasabing tao ay sasailalim sa rehabilitasyon nang hindi bababa sa anim na buwan sa isang government rehabilitation center. Sa ikalawang paglabag naman, maaari siyang makulong ng anim na taon at isang araw hanggang labindalawang taon at pagmultahin ng halagang limampung libo hanggang dalawang
daang libong piso.

TWO FORMER MEMBERS OF THE NPA IN MASBATE, RETURNED TO THE ASSISTANCE OF 65th INFANTRY BATTALION

Two former members of the New People's Army (NPA) voluntarily surrendered to the government by surrendering to the 65th Infantry (STALWART) Battalion, 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division, Philippine Army.

According to one of the former rebels, they have long desired to leave the armed struggle and return to their families.

"We wanted to go home and leave the war for a long time. For a long time, we felt tired and missed our families. We are grateful to the government and the 65IB for giving us the opportunity to start again," said one of the converts.

Converted former rebels will receive benefits under the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). This includes financial assistance, corresponding benefits for surrendered weapons, skills training from TESDA, psychosocial counseling, and medical assistance to support their rehabilitation.

The family of the former rebels also played a big role in encouraging them to completely convert and start a new life. The cooperation of the citizens was also important in providing information that made it possible for the military to reach and encourage the former rebels to surrender to the government.

It only shows that the community is ready to accept former rebels who want to live peacefully and normally. With the continued unity of the people, local government, and the military, the promotion of peace and prosperity in the province of Masbate will be strengthened.

On June 1, 2026 at about 7:00 AM, personnel of Mamburao Municipal Police Station led by PLT VIRGINIA C. OLIVER, Admin Officer, under the supervision of PMAJ JOSELITO L. SAPE, ACOP, together with PLTCOL ARCHIE M. BAYLEN, Force Commander of 2nd PMFC, personnel of the 76th Infantry Battalion, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), provided security assistance during the conduct of a Serbisyo Caravan/Outreach Program held at Ugnayan sa Pamayanan, Sitio Kahel, Brgy. Tayamaan, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

The activity was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Mamburao led by Hon. Atty. Glicerio S. Almero III, Municipal Mayor, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, MDRRMO, PESO Provincial Office, Municipal Health Office (MHO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), and the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Tayamaan.

The outreach program provided various services and assistance to the residents, including:
🦷 Distribution of dental kits
🌱 Free seeds and seedlings
πŸ’‘ Distribution of solar lights
πŸ€ Provision of sports equipment
πŸ’Š Free medicines in partnership with the AKAP HUB of the Provincial Health Office

Registration services were also conducted such as:

πŸ“ PhilHealth Registration
πŸ“ Senior Citizen Registration
πŸ“ Solo Parent Registration

Likewise, free slippers, clothing, groceries, and other essential items were distributed through the assistance of several generous individuals and partner stakeholders.

The outreach activity became a meaningful initiative that provided immediate assistance and essential services to the community while promoting health, safety, environmental awareness, and community welfare. The collaborative efforts of the participating agencies and stakeholders further strengthened solidarity, cooperation, and resilience among the residents.

The activity ended peacefully at about 1:40 PM on the same date
