MALITBOG, Southern Leyte โ The Schools Division of Southern Leyte officially commenced its "Brigada Eskwela 2026" campaign with a grand kick-off ceremony held at Cadaruhan Integrated School. Guided by the theme, โ๐ฝ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ก๐๐ฃ: ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ช๐จ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ข๐๐ฃ,โ the event served as a rallying point for stakeholders to prepare schools for the upcoming academic year.
The program was graced by distinguished leaders in education, led by Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez, Regional Director and Concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent. Joining him were Dr. Isidro C. Catubig, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Alfredo M. Bayon, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID); and Dr. Isabelo D. Orais, Chief of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD). Also in attendance were Atty. Reynaldo R. Badilla, Legal Officer III; Mr. Jason Calva, representing the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Education; and Ms. Gergie Fel Paler, Malitbog District Supervisor. Their presence, alongside various district supervisors, teachers, parents, and community partners, underscored the shared commitment to quality education.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malitbog demonstrated its full support for the initiative. The delegation was led by Mayor Kenneth Blair S. Oben and Vice Mayor Papias R. Namoc, accompanied by Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Ma. Maida Campilan (Chairperson of the Committee on Education), Hon. John Ryan Dy, Hon. Angelica Siega, and Hon. Ramon Escaรฑo.
The afternoon session shifted the focus toward environmental sustainability. Participants engaged in a division-wide tree-planting activity within the school grounds and surrounding community areas. This initiative served as a practical application of environmental stewardship, aiming to foster a greener and healthier learning climate for future generations of learners.
More than just a maintenance drive, the event highlighted the enduring spirit of bayanihan. The unity displayed by educators, local government officials, and community volunteers reflects a collective resolve to build safer, more conducive learning environments. As the division moves forward, this strong partnership remains the bedrock of its mission to provide quality education and secure a brighter future for every Southern Leyteรฑo student.
