LOOK: The Municipality of Makato led by Mayor Leoncito Y. Mationg, together with the representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Aklan, assisted by Mrs. May Jean Pu-od, Makato PESO Manager conducted the orientation for beneficiaries of the DOLE Emergency Employment Program at the Office of the Mayor.

The activity gave participants a better understanding of the program, their responsibilities, and the opportunities available to them. It also served as a chance to answer questions and ensure that everyone is ready for the program ahead.

LOOK: Today, LGU Makato led by Mayor Leoncito Y. Mationg joined the Schools Division of Aklan in the Division Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off 2026 held at Guadalupe National High School, Guadalupe, Libacao, Aklan, with the theme โ€œBayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.โ€

Representing Mayor Leoncito Y. Mationg, Mrs. Vida M. Pamatian, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, attended the activity and expressed the LGU's support for Brigada Eskwela and the programs of the Department of Education.

The event brought together teachers, school officials, local government representatives, volunteers, and community partners who share the same goal of helping prepare our schools for the opening of classes. The Makato District delegation was headed by Mrs. Ana S. Andrada, Principal-in-Charge of the District.

Through teamwork and bayanihan, we continue to show that when the community works together, we can create a better and safer learning environment for our learners.

LOOK: The Local Government Unit of Makato, led by Mayor Leoncito Y. Mationg, officially launched the Paleng-QR Ph Plus Program in the Municipality of Makato on May 20, 2026. This is a significant step towards promoting digital financial inclusion and cashless transactions in the local market and community.

The launching ceremony was attended by Vice Mayor Marcosa T. Rusia, Senior SB Member HB Torres representing Mayor Langkoy, LGU Department Heads and Employees, together with various sectors in the municipality. The event was graced by distinguished guest speakers Mr. Dino A. Ponsaran, CESO V, Provincial Director of DILG Aklan; through an AVP, Dr. Eli M. Remolona, Jr., Chairman of the Monetary Board and Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; Ms. Mariliza D. Tuzon, Acting Area Director of BSP Roxas Branch; and Mr. Romel L. Amihan, the designated OIC-Assistant Regional Director of DTI Region VI.

The LGU of Makato extends its heartfelt gratitude to its partner institutions for their invaluable support in making this initiative possible the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, BPI, BDO, PNB, Palawan Pawnshop, Landbank, GCash, and Maya.

A day prior to the launching program, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas also conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar participated in by different sectors in the municipality, further strengthening public awareness on responsible financial management and digital banking services.

Through the Paleng-QR Ph Plus Program, the Municipality of Makato continues to embrace innovation and modernization towards a more inclusive, convenient, and digitally empowered Makato.

The Local Government Unit of Makato led by Mayor Leoncito Y. Mationg informs the public that Wednesday, May 27, 2026 has been declared a Regular Holiday throughout the country pursuant to Proclamation No. 1264, in observance of Eidโ€™l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.

Eidโ€™l Adha is one of the most important celebrations in Islam, symbolizing faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion. On this special occasion, we join our Muslim brothers and sisters in prayer and thanksgiving as they celebrate this meaningful religious event with their families and communities.

Residents are advised to plan their schedules accordingly. Government offices and some establishments may have adjusted operations during the holiday.
