𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: With the semiconductor and electronics industries identified as priority sectors under the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, the DTI-Tatak Pinoy Council Secretariat demonstrated its strong support for the launch of the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Industry (PSEI) Roadmap, held yesterday (September 2) at Malacañan Palace.

Administrative Order No. 31, s. 2025 called for the development of the PSEI Roadmap as a strategic framework to accelerate the growth and global competitiveness of the country’s semiconductor and electronics industry.

The DTI, together with the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry (SEI) Advisory Council, led the formulation of the roadmap.

The launch showcased the country’s multisectoral commitment—from industry stakeholders and academe to government partners—to building a future where Philippine products and services are engineered, innovated, and designed for the global stage. 🇵🇭

The PSEI Roadmap aligns closely with the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, which seeks to strengthen and advance Philippine manufacturing, particularly in competitive sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, and electrical devices.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: The DTI-Tatak Pinoy Council Secretariat, together with the DTI-Export Marketing Bureau met yesterday (September 02) with Filipino food and beverage company, Orich, to discuss the company’s product development initiatives, particularly its use of locally-sourced fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and to explore potential areas of collaboration under the Tatak Pinoy initiative. 🇵🇭

The discussion primarily focused on the challenges of mainstreaming Filipino products, improving access to general trade and retail channels, strengthening product and packaging competitiveness, and leveraging the Tatak Pinoy Seal and government procurement to expand market opportunities for local brands.

The DTI-Tatak Pinoy Council Secretariat regularly connects with Filipino businesses from diverse industries, exploring opportunities to help local products and services grow, scale up, and reach more markets through the Tatak Pinoy program.

🎥 | ICYMI: Federation of Philippine Industries President and newly appointed Private Sector Representative to the Tatak Pinoy Council, Mr. John Reinier Dizon, talked about the key objectives of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy with Cathy Yang in this recent episode of Money Talks.

Amid global and domestic headwinds, including rising oil and fuel prices and the depreciation of the peso, the Tatak Pinoy Strategy will be instrumental as a guiding framework for strengthening support for domestic industries.

With the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, government agencies are called to prioritize the procurement of locally-produced goods and services for projects and programs. By doing this, public funds are leveraged to create greater opportunities for domestic MSMEs and Philippine industries - translating support for local industries into concrete action. 🇵🇭

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: The DTI-Tatak Pinoy Council Secretariat (DTI-TPCS) met with Filipino technology brand Redfox Technologies today (September 02) to discuss opportunities for assistance, business upscaling, and expanded support for the company, especially as they prepare for the launch of their upcoming Redfox Innovation Start-Up and Entrepreneurial Hub or RISE Hub this September.

The RISE Hub is envisioned as an avenue of support for MSMEs and start-up entrepreneurs in need of a platform to showcase their products and utilize electronics, such as Redfox gadgets.

Redfox is known as a local producer of high-tech laptops, tablets, personal computers, and other gadgets, such as gaming mice, Bluetooth speakers, and Bluetooth frames.

Last May 2026, Redfox was an exhibitor at the 2026 Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Filipino) Expo.

Their work closely aligns with the objectives of the DTI Tatak Pinoy Program. During the meeting, the DTI-TPCS highly encouraged Redfox to apply for the Tatak Pinoy Seal — the government’s new and upcoming certification mechanism for proudly Philippine-made products and services. The Seal will allow certified businesses to receive support from the government when bidding for government procurement projects.

𝗛𝗶𝗻𝘁: It’s an economic term! 👀

Under RA 11981, or the Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Filipino) Act, this concept refers to the productive capabilities and know-how of a geographical area. It looks at how diverse the goods and services a place can produce and export are, and how many other places can produce the same things.

According to economists Hausmann and Hidalgo, this concept helps us understand a country’s economic growth and development, as countries with higher levels of diverse, rare, and sophisticated products and exports tend to perform better economically.

It is also closely related to concepts such as comparative advantage and structural transformation! Through Tatak Pinoy, this is something we wish to further achieve for the Philippines. ✨
