IAS conducted a Progress Monitoring Conference last March 31, 2026 on the Audit of the Bids and Awards Committee on Goods and Infrastructure. The conference highlighted the status of the audit recommendations whether fully, partially or not yet implemented and the actions to be taken for those partially and those to be implemented yet.

Last March 03, IAS held an Exit Conference on the Audit of the Office of the City Agriculture Operations.

The conference highlighted the commendable practices of the City Agriculture. Also, findings for improvement, the recommendations and the agreed actions were also being discussed and agreed upon by IAS and the said office together with other concerned offices.

IAS is committed in helping the city in achieving its goals for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness and the continual improvement of the City's operations❤️

Yesterday, the Internal Audit Service conducted a survey on the implementation of Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project Ordinance in Brgys. Abgao, Asuncion, Isagani, Ibarra, Ma. Clara and Pasay.

This Ordinance prescribes each barangay whether situated in the rural or uban area to establish their own community garden. Also, households in every barangay, public schools are also mandated to establish their own vegetable garden.

IAS informed the barangays to coordinate with the City Agriculture Office for the reporting, provision of seedlings and fertilizers and the conduct of orientation, seminars and trainings for the development and proper care of the barangay community gardens. Also, they should ensure that children who are malnourished or stunted are the primary beneficiaries of the harvested vegetables.

The Internal Audit Service, yesterday and today, conducted a verification on the existence of the dispersals and redispersals of swine, cattle and carabao to the various beneficiaries.

This dispersal and redispersal program of the City Agriculture aims to provide livelihood opportunities to those citizens in Maasin that are willing to take care and to return two offspring (e.g., calf or piglet) to the City Agriculture Office, which is then re-dispersed to other qualified farmers.

The City Agriculture reminds the beneficiaries to always report to the office in case there is already an offspring and also in times of problems especially on breeding.

Also, various farms of the beneficiaries of rice, corn, high value crops' seedlings and fertilizers were also being inspected to check the actual status of their crops.

The conference highlighted the commendable practices of the City Social Welfare and Development. Also, findings for improvement, the recommendations and the agreed actions were also being discussed and agreed upon by IAS and the said office together with other concerned offices.

Today, August 19, 2025, the Municipality of Babatngon, Leyte visited our Internal Audit Service to conduct a benchmarking primarily on the understanding of the role of internal audit in their municipality and also the various reports that should be prepared and submitted to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in compliance with the DBM Public Financial Management (PFM) Assessment, a requirement for Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

Also, they have visited our Sanitary Landfill in order to check the machine and equipment that were used in the recycling of our waste turning into useful products.
