AGRO-FAIR 2025

As an agriculture-based economy, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maayon, through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, continues to honor the hard work and dedication of its local farmers. This ongoing celebration highlights the prosperity and bountiful harvests that define the municipality, showcasing the vital role of agriculture in the community’s growth and sustainability.
One of the key events is the Agro-Fair, a vibrant celebration that brings together local farmers, residents, and visitors to appreciate the fruits of Maayon’s agricultural labor. The fair features a variety of activities designed for both enjoyment and appreciation. These activities also create a space for farmers to connect, share knowledge, and celebrate their achievements.

A central highlight of the fair is the display of local agricultural produce from Maayon’s 32 clustered barangays. Each barangay proudly showcases its unique crops, ranging from fresh vegetables to fruits and other locally grown specialties. The fair provides a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to purchase these fresh, high-quality products directly from the source, supporting the local farming community and promoting the sustainable growth of Maayon’s agricultural industry.

HIL-O HIL-O FESTIVAL 2025: DAY 1

DRUM AND LYRE COMPETITION
As the sun blazed high above, the air was filled with the powerful rhythms and vibrant melodies of the Drum and Lyre Competition. Despite the sweltering heat, the enthusiasm and energy of the performers kept the crowd on their feet. This year’s event saw four talented groups showcasing their skills, each bringing their unique flair to the competition. After a day of intense performances and stunning displays, the winners were finally announced in their respective categories.

Elementary Category:
1st Place – Maayon Elementary School
2nd Place – Tuburan Elementary School

High School Category:
1st Place – Maayon National High School
2nd Place – Florentina B. Degala National High School

The air was electric as the beats of drums blended with the graceful twirls of batons, creating an unforgettable spectacle. Every performance was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of the young students. Parents, teachers, and spectators cheered proudly, witnessing the culmination of months of practice and passion.

CITIZEN’S DAY: MEDICAL MISSION & OPERATION TULI

As part of the local government unit’s ongoing commitment to enhancing social welfare services for the Maayonanon community, the Hil-o Hil-o Festival 2025 stands as a testament to their efforts. This year’s festival features a series of vital programs aimed at promoting health and well-being among residents.

One of the highlights is the Medical Mission, spearheaded by the Municipal Health Office of Maayon in collaboration with several healthcare partners, including the Bailan District Hospital, Sen. Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial Hospital, and Cuartero PCF. Together, they offer a comprehensive range of medical services, ensuring that accessible healthcare reaches every corner of the community.

In addition to general healthcare, the festival also provides essential services for the younger generation, such as the "Operation Tuli" program. This initiative offers free circumcision services for young boys in the area, supporting their health and cultural traditions.

The celebration of the Hil-o Hil-o Festival not only fosters a sense of unity but also reinforces the local government's unwavering dedication to the well-being of the Maayonanon people. Through these collaborative efforts, the festival serves as a vital platform for improving public health and ensuring a brighter, healthier future for all.

HIL-O HIL-O FESTIVAL 2025: DAY 1

OPENING PROGRAM

The Opening Program marks the official start of the festivities in the Municipality of Maayon, setting the stage for a week filled with excitement and unity. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Capiz Provincial Governor - Hon. Fredenil “Oto” H. Castro, who not only delivered a heartfelt speech but also led the formal declaration of the Hil-o Hil-o Festival 2025 opening. His inspiring words reminded everyone of the importance of tradition, community, and the spirit of togetherness.

This year’s program introduced a fresh and exciting element—the awarding of the Arko and Altar Design Competition 2025 winners. Both competitions were participated by our thirty-two barangays and local business owners. In addition, the induction of the new officers of the Business Owners Association took place, marking a new chapter of collaboration and support for the local economy. The event was a perfect blend of tradition and progress, capturing the heart of Maayon’s spirit and setting the tone for the rest of the festivities to come.

GRAND PARADE

This year’s celebration is off to an incredible start, promising to be one of the most memorable yet! With over 2,000 participants joining the Hilo-Hilo Festival Grand Parade, it’s clear that our celebration is growing bigger and more vibrant every year. The parade featured a diverse array of participants—from local government units and national government agencies to elementary and secondary schools, business owners, motorcycle groups, and so many more. Each group brought their own unique energy and creativity, adding to the excitement and charm of the event.
This year’s festivities have already set a high bar, and with so many more vibrant and thrilling events lined up, it’s clear that the Hilo-Hilo Festival will continue to grow, unite, and inspire our beloved Maayonanon family.
