At about 6:30 AM on June 3, 2026, personnel of the PNP Maayon Municipal Police Station led by PCPT Danilo F Lauron, OIC, together with BPATs, Guardians, and Traffic Auxiliaries, participated in and provided area security during the Kick-Off Program of Brigada Eskwela 2026 held at Maayon National High School, Poblacion Tabuc, Maayon, Capiz.

This activity highlights the commitment of the Philippine National Police and its partner stakeholders in ensuring a safe, orderly, and successful implementation of Brigada Eskwela while strengthening community involvement and support for the education sector.

NEWS UPDATE: Focus crimes in Western Visayas dropped by 19.44% during the first 10 days under the leadership of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Acting Regional Director PBGEN Randulf Tuaño, reflecting what police described as early gains from intensified law enforcement efforts and stronger community engagement.

PRO6 recorded 29 focus crime incidents from May 22 to 31, 2026, down from 36 cases logged during the previous 10-day period.

Among the notable declines were murder and robbery cases, both reduced by 50%. Murder incidents fell from six to three, while robbery cases dropped from four to two. Homicide cases also decreased from three to two, while physical injury incidents slightly declined from nine to eight.

Police also reported sustained gains in anti-criminality operations, leading to the arrest of 57 wanted persons, including 17 most wanted individuals. Anti-illegal drug operations resulted in the arrest of 47 drug personalities and the seizure of around ₱19 million worth of suspected shabu.

Dir. Tuaño attributed the positive trend to heightened police visibility, intensified operations, and strengthened partnerships with local government units, national agencies, media organizations, and communities. | via Ryan Lesigues
