DOLE Quezon Provincial Office Conducts Coordination Meetings for TUPAD Brigada Eskwela 2026

In preparation for the implementation of TUPAD Brigada Eskwela 2026, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Quezon Provincial Office through Ms. Mylanie P. Rea, TUPAD Focal Person, facilitated a series of coordination meetings with school representatives and education stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, clarify implementation guidelines, and ensure the smooth rollout of the program in participating schools. The initiative is being implemented in support of the Department of Labor and Employment - DOLE under the leadership of Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, in collaboration with the Department of Education and other partner agencies.

On June 1, 2026, school representatives attended a coordination meeting with the DepEd Division of Lucena City and the DepEd Division of Tayabas, together with officials from the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD). Present during the meeting were Dr. Epifania F. Carandang, Chief Education Supervisor; Ms. Belen Andal, Senior Education Program Specialist for the Social Mobilization and Networking (SMN) Section; and Ms. Joan Kathleen Talabong, Education Program Supervisor II for SMN.

A subsequent coordination meeting was held on June 3, 2026, led by the DepEd Division of Quezon, where participants discussed key aspects of program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative efforts to enhance school preparedness and promote safe, clean, and conducive learning environments. These coordination meetings reflect the continued commitment of DOLE, DepEd, partner agencies, and participating schools to strengthening community involvement and ensuring the successful implementation of TUPAD Brigada Eskwela.

DOLE Quezon Provincial Office facilitates TUPAD-Brigada Eskwela to Prepare Schools for SY 2026–2027

Through the pronouncement of the National Government and spearheaded by DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, the Quezon Provincial Office simultaneously facilitated the TUPAD-Brigada Eskwela Program to ensure safe and learner-ready spaces ahead of the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.

A total of 701 workers assisted in campus clean-ups, minor repairs, and facility maintenance for the Brigada Eskwela program at Pagbilao Central Elementary School, Pagbilao East Elementary School, and Pagbilao West Elementary School in Pagbilao, Quezon; Lusacan Elementary School, Claro M. Recto Memorial Central School, and Gloria Umali Integrated School in Tiaong, Quezon; and Talaan Aplaya Elementary School, Lutgarda Causapin Elementary School, and Castañas National High School in Sariaya, Quezon. The joint initiative aims to provide temporary employment to marginalized workers—particularly parents and relatives of public-school students. The program allows beneficiaries to earn minimum daily wages to help support their families' daily expenses and educational needs.

Through this initiative, schools are better prepared to welcome learners in a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment while providing short-term employment opportunities to disadvantaged workers. The TUPAD-Brigada Eskwela program forms part of the nationwide effort of the Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Education to prepare public schools for the opening of classes.
