On Thursday, August 14, 2025, Ampalioc PS proudly celebrated Nutrition Month. Despite being postponed due to the effects of typhoons and the southwest monsoons in our province, our celebration was a huge success, filled with fun, healthy, and indigenous dishes, and teamwork from our amazing parents. 🌿

We thank Sir Victor Bernal of LGU-Luba for his generous financial support, which facilitated the prizes awarded to the four groups of parents. We also gratefully acknowledge the presence of Brgy. Midwife Maxima Buenafe, whose support added warmth and meaning to the event. πŸ™

Together, we remain committed to promoting health, wellness, and community spirit at APS.

JUST IN: School Officials Inspect Minor Landslide; Immediate Action Recommended

Earlier today, School Principal Jose P. Garcia and the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Coordinator conducted an on-site inspection following a minor landslide within the school premises, triggered by continuous heavy rainfall.

Upon assessment, it was concluded that urgent construction of a concrete riprap wall is necessary to prevent further soil erosion and to ensure the safety of the nearby school building. This proactive measure aims to protect both learners and the school infrastructure from future risks.

We will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate steps to uphold a safe and secure learning environment for all.

🦷 Free Dental Mission at Ampalioc PS

A special health initiative was successfully conducted at Ampalioc Primary School through the support of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Abra, bringing smiles and lessons on good oral hygiene to our young learners!

This free medical mission was led by Dr. Maricar Tabero– SDO Abra Dentist II, assisted by
SDO Abra dental Aide 1- Roland Pascua and our District Nurse Marlino D. Cabanday, Jr.

During the mission, the team briefly discussed the importance of oral hygiene and demonstrated the proper way to brush teeth. The activity emphasized that healthy teeth mean a healthier future for our children!

**2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2025**

🏫Ampalioc Primary School
πŸ—’οΈJune 19, 2025

Today, Ampalioc PS successfully participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)β€”the first earthquake drill our learners experienced for School Year 2025-2026.

This activity serves as a life-saving reminder for our young learners on how to properly respond before, during, and after an earthquake. Through guided practice and simulation, learners were trained to Duck, Cover, and Hold - key steps that can help reduce injury and save lives during real emergencies.

Disaster preparedness is everyone's responsibility, and by instilling these safety habits early, we help build a culture of readiness and resilience.

*Let’s all stay informed, alert, and prepared!

Orientation on Earthquake Preparedness Measures
June 18, 2025

Raian J. Francisco, SDRRM Coor. of Ampalioc PS conducted an orientation on June 18, 2025, focused on earthquake preparedness, particularly for the kindergarten learners. This activity was in line with the upcoming 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2025.

One of the key highlights of the short session was the introduction and explanation of the siren sound and its purpose during an earthquake drill. It was observed that many of the learners, especially those who had come from daycare, were previously frightened by the siren, with some even crying. However, through the thorough discussion and patient explanation of the SDRRM Coordinator, the learners were able to understand the significance of the siren and how to respond appropriately during such situations.

The orientation ended with a successful dry run, with the learners participating calmly and confidently.
