Calubian Barangays Join 2026 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
Barangays across the Municipality of Calubian actively participated in the 2026 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 10, 2026, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening community preparedness and disaster resilience.
The earthquake drill was simultaneously conducted in the participating barangays, with residents, barangay officials, volunteers, and other community members carrying out the prescribed earthquake preparedness procedures in their respective areas.
An estimated 906 participants from various barangays took part in the activity. Participants practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and other appropriate actions to be undertaken during an earthquake, reinforcing the importance of remaining calm and knowing what to do when an earthquake occurs.
The conduct of the drill at the barangay level provided an opportunity for communities to assess their readiness, familiarize residents with emergency procedures, and identify possible areas for improvement in their local disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.
The participation of Calubian’s barangays in the 3rd Quarter NSED highlights the importance of a whole-of-community approach to disaster risk reduction and management, where preparedness begins at the grassroots level.
Through sustained participation in national and local disaster preparedness activities, the Municipality of Calubian continues to promote a culture of preparedness and resilience among its communities—helping ensure that every barangay is better equipped to respond to emergencies and protect lives when disasters strike.
