𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Maritime Safety Services Unit–Eastern Visayas (MSSU-EV) personnel led by 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐄 𝐇 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐎 𝐏𝐂𝐆, in coordination with the Coast Guard Sub-Station Tacloban, conducted a Recreational Safety Enforcement Inspection at both coastal beach resorts, namely 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑱𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒚'𝒔 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕.

The inspection assessed the resort's compliance with safety, security, and operational requirements for coastal tourism establishments, including emergency preparedness and the availability and condition of life-saving equipment. As well as upholding maritime safety standards and protecting lives and property within the country's coastal and maritime jurisdictions.

Through this inspection and monitoring, the Philippine Coast Guard reaffirms its commitment to promoting safety and regulatory compliance among coastal establishments, supporting public safety, responsible coastal tourism, and a resilient and sustainable maritime community in Eastern Visayas.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has been placed on heightened alert as it intensifies preparations for the possible impact of Super Typhoon , particularly in the National Capital Region, Northeastern Luzon, Northwestern Luzon, and the Bicol Region.

PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has directed all concerned Coast Guard Districts, Stations, and Sub-Stations to implement preparedness measures and maintain close coordination with local disaster risk reduction and management councils and local government units to safeguard coastal communities and maritime stakeholders.

PCG Acting Spokesperson, Commander Michael John Encina PCG, said the Coast Guard has activated its preparedness and response measures under the Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) campaign.

Preparations include facilitating the early evacuation of residents in high-risk coastal areas, issuing sea travel advisories, securing ports and other Coast Guard facilities, and prepositioning deployable response groups for immediate dispatch. The PCG Auxiliary has also been mobilized to augment preparedness and response operations.

"The PCG is also intensifying engagements with fisherfolk and coastal community residents to encourage compliance with evacuation directives," Commander Encina said.

The public is advised to monitor official weather bulletins and immediately report maritime emergencies through the nearest Coast Guard unit for appropriate action.

The Coast Guard District - Eastern Visayas (CGDEV), through its Provost Marshal Unit – Eastern Visayas (PMU-EV), conducted a Vehicle Registration and Driver's License Inspection for personnel of the Maritime Safety Services Unit – Eastern Visayas (MSSU-EV) on 06 July 2026.

The inspection formed part of the District's continuing efforts to ensure compliance with existing traffic laws, Philippine Coast Guard policies, and road safety regulations. Personnel operating privately owned vehicles underwent document verification to confirm the validity of their driver's licenses and the registration of their vehicles.

The activity also served to reinforce discipline, accountability, and responsible vehicle operation among Coast Guard personnel, highlighting the importance of complying with legal requirements while performing official duties.

Through initiatives such as this, the Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas remains steadfast in promoting a culture of professionalism, operational readiness, and adherence to safety standards, in support of the Philippine Coast Guard's mission of ensuring maritime safety, security, and public service.

The Coast Guard Station Malacañang adopts the 3Ps -- Pre-Emptive, Preventive, and Proactive -- to strengthen typhoon preparedness and response in anticipation of Super Typhoon .

This operational approach is anchored on the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) Intensified Community assistance Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) program that prioritizes the protection of lives, prevention of maritime incidents, safeguarding of critical assets, and coordinated emergency response before, during, and after the typhoon.
