The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), as the secretariat of the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Committee chaired by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., supports the launch of the UPLIFT Microsite. This initiative aims to strengthen whole-of-government coordination in addressing global economic challenges.

Amid the Middle East conflict and its impact on oil prices and supply chains, the UPLIFT Microsite provides timely and integrated information across key sectors including—energy, transport, food, and social protection—to support responsive and data-driven government interventions.

Icons of Change Awardees Take Center Stage at the Metro Manila SDG Action Summit 2025
Southville International School and Colleges

In a defining moment for leadership, innovation, and impact, the Icons of Change Awardees were formally recognized during the Metro Manila SDG Action Summit 2025—a high-level gathering aligned with the United Nations' International Year of Peace and Trust. The event brought together trailblazers from across the archipelago and beyond, all united by a shared commitment to driving sustainable transformation in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Summit, held under the banner of collective action and strategic collaboration, featured the formal unveiling of the awardees’ group and individual photos—a symbolic testament to the diverse faces of progress. Each awardee stands not just as a leader in their respective field, but as an architect of change, shaping the future through sustainability, equity, and innovation.

Celebrating Excellence Across Sectors

The Icons of Change Awards honor individuals, institutions, and enterprises that have redefined performance—where purpose meets measurable impact. The 2025 edition recognized outstanding contributions in areas ranging from education, climate action, and public service to grassroots innovation, gender equality, and sustainable enterprise.

Whether it’s launching groundbreaking social enterprises, pioneering green technologies, reshaping local governance, or empowering marginalized communities, these awardees exemplify the spirit of the United Nations’ call for peace, trust, and transformative action.

Anchoring Peace and Trust Through Sustainable Development

With 2025 declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN, this year’s Icons of Change recognition took on even greater significance. Peace, in this context, is more than the absence of conflict—it is the presence of justice, access, opportunity, and dignity for all. Trust, meanwhile, is the currency of governance, community building, and international cooperation.

The awardees embody both. From reform-oriented public officials and ethical entrepreneurs to forward-thinking educators and sustainability advocates, each honoree contributes to a future where peace and trust are not abstract ideals but practical outcomes of good leadership and inclusive development.

A Platform for Impact and Collaboration

This year’s Icons of Change Awards were designed not just to recognize, but to mobilize: building bridges across public, private, and civil society sectors to accelerate the SDG agenda. By showcasing these exemplary leaders and their initiatives, the awards aim to inspire replication, partnership, and policy reform across the region.

Legacy in Motion

As the awardees' photos are shared across digital platforms and institutional media, they serve as visual blueprints for the kind of leadership the world urgently needs—leadership grounded in service, strategy, and sustainability. The Icons of Change Awards remind us all: transformation is not the work of a few, but the responsibility of many.

Congratulations to all the Icons of Change 2025 awardees. Your vision, courage, and action are lighting the way toward a more just, inclusive, and resilient future.
