Aquino, CESO V, and represented by LGOO II Ruel O. Evangelista, LGOO II Jose Mari Tindugan, LGOO II Engr. Nestor Candidato, and ISA I Shyrell Trazona, convened to discuss the necessary preparations, coordination mechanisms, and logistical arrangements for the upcoming activities, particularly the Capacitation and Coaching in Preparation for the Drug- Cleared Status Retention Process of Barangays in Lapu-Lapu City, as well as the Community-Based Anti-Illegal Drug Activities (CBAIDA).

The coordination meeting focused on delineating roles and responsibilities, ensuring compliance with program requirements, and strengthening inter-agency collaboration to facilitate the successful conduct of the activities and further advance the city's anti-illegal drug initiatives at the community level.

DILG LAPU-LAPU CITY WELCOMES NEW TECHNICAL STAFF, GEARS UP FOR JUNE ACTIVITIES

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Lapu-Lapu City, under the leadership of City Director Dr. Neila N. Aquino, CESO V, convened its technical staff and personnel for a coordination meeting highlighted by the formal introduction and welcome of its newest team members, Local Government Operations Officers II Engr. Nestor A. Candidato Jr. and Jose Mari Y. Tindugan.

The meeting also focused on the preparations for the Departmentโ€™s key activities for the month of June, including the Drug Retention and Capacitation Program (Coaching and Mentoring) and AMUMA sa Barangay in Olango Island. These initiatives underscore DILGโ€™s commitment to strengthening local governance, enhancing community engagement, and supporting sustainable development at the grassroots level.

In addition, discussions were held regarding the transition to a temporary office location as the current DILG Lapu-Lapu City Office will undergo renovation to address structural concerns and ensure a safe and conducive working environment. During this period, the office will be temporarily housed at the Lapu-Lapu City Cooperative and Livelihood Resource Center (LCRC).

With renewed vigor and strengthened manpower, DILG Lapu-Lapu City remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering responsive, effective, and people-centered public service for the benefit of all constituents.

LOOK | DILG Lapu-Lapu City Conducts Preparatory Orientation-Briefing for the AMUMA Launching for Olango Island Barangays

In preparation for the upcoming AMUMA Launching in Olango Island, DILG Lapu-Lapu City conducted an AMUMA Orientation-Briefing today, June 4, 2026, via Zoom Platform for the participating barangays of Santa Rosa, San Vicente, Talima, Baring, Tingo, Caw-oy, Sabang and Tungasan.

The activity was organized by the DILG Lapu-Lapu City Team led by City Director Dr. Neila N. Aquino, CESO V. LGOO II Ruel O. Evangelista served as the resource person and discussed the objectives, implementation strategies, and key components of the AMUMA Program. Also present were ISA I Shyrell A. Trazona, LGOO II Nestor A. Candidato Jr., and LGOO II Jose Mari Y. Tindugan.

The orientation cm preparatory briefing aimed to strengthen coordination among participating barangays and ensure their readiness for the successful implementation and launching of the AMUMA Program in Olango Island.

Brgy. Pajac, headed by Punong Barangay Hon. Bonifacio Ompad, and Brgy. Pusok, headed by Punong Barangay Hon. Ranulfo Emperio, successfully completed the training on the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) Law, Prescribed KP Forms, and Orientation on the Enhanced Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) today, June 3, 2026, at the Brgy. Pusok Conference Room, Lapu-Lapu City.

The training was facilitated by DILG Lapu-Lapu City headed by City Director Dr. Neila N. Aquino, CESO V, who discussed the provisions and aspects of the Katarungang Pambarangay Law under RA 7160. LGOO II Ruel O. Evangelista presented the proper use and documentation of the prescribed KP Forms to ensure uniform and legally compliant barangay proceedings. ISA I Shyrell A. Trazona discussed the orientation on the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA), highlighting the criteria, performance indicators, and documentary requirements to encourage excellence in barangay dispute resolution.

ADA IV Jhon Vincent Lagala provided technical assistance and administered the pre-test and post-test to measure the knowledge gained by the participants.

In attendance were the Barangay Officials, Lupong Tagapamayapa Members, Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO), Barangay Secretaries, VAW Desk Officers and staff of both barangays.

The Katarungang Pambarangay serves as the primary mechanism for amicable settlement of disputes at the barangay level, aiming to decongest courts and promote peace and order in the community. The LTIA is an annual search by the DILG that recognizes outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa for their efficiency in resolving cases.

This joint training emphasizes both barangays commitment to strengthening grassroots justice, improving KP case management, and preparing the Lupons to earn the due recognition in the future LTIA assessments.

๐—œ๐—ก ๐—ฃ๐—›๐—ข๐—ง๐—ข๐—ฆ | DILG Lapu-Lapu City, led by City Director Dr. Neila Aquino, in partnership with the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), successfully conducted the Local Poverty Reduction Action Plan (LPRAP) Formulation Workshop today, June 2, 2026, at the Hoops Dome Conference Room, Lapu-Lapu City.

The activity gathered local officials, department heads, and civil society organizations (CSOs) to identify priority concerns and develop responsive strategies aimed at reducing poverty and improving the lives of Oponganons.

DILG Lapu-Lapu City, headed by City Director Dr. Neila N. Aquino, CESO V, and represented by ISA I Shyrell A. Trazona, attended the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) held today, June 2, 2026, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Conference Room.

The meeting was presided over by City Councilor Hon. Annabeth Cuizon, Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations and Finance, together with City Councilor Hon. Arianne Yap. Among the matters discussed were the LCPC's proposed activities for Calendar Year (CY) 2026, the proposed budget for FY 2027, the standardization of daycare center structures, the accreditation of court interpreters, and International Justice Mission proposed activities.

Other regular members of the LCPC were likewise present during the meeting.
