LOOK | BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING (BDP) WORKSHOP OF BARANGAY BABAG
The Barangay Development Planning (BDP) Workshop was an initiative that brought together barangay officials, stakeholders, and planning personnel. The activity aimed to strengthen development planning through active participation and inclusive decision-making.
The workshop started with a Welcome Message from Hon. Eulogio Cesar M. Manayon, Punong Barangay of Babag. This was followed by an overview of the Barangay Development Planning (BDP) Process, the Planning Process, and its Legal Basis, facilitated by LGOO II Ruel Evangelista.
Participants then proceeded to a series of learning modules and workshops. The first session, Module 1: Revisiting/Formulating the Vision-Mission-Goals-Objectives Statement and Situational Analysis, was facilitated by ISR II Shy Trazona. This was followed by Workshop 1: Formulating the Vision-Mission-Goals-Objectives Statement.
The workshop also covered Module 2: Sectoral Plans, Module 3: Prioritization Matrix, and Module 4: Investment Programming, facilitated by LGOO II Ruel Evangelista. During these sessions, participants identified community issues and concerns, defined Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs), and explored funding sources and investment priorities.
The activity also included Module 5: Capacity Development (CapDev) Agenda, facilitated by LGOO II Jose Mari Tindugan. The module focused on identifying capacity development needs and formulating strategies to support the effective implementation of the Barangay Development Plan.
The workshop concluded with the Presentation and Critiquing of Workshop Outputs by Sector, which provided participants with an opportunity to present and consolidate the identified development priorities and proposed interventions for the barangay. City Director Neila Aquino served as the head panelist for the critiquing of the workshop outputs. Other groups' members also provided their observations and clarifications on the outputs of other groups.
Through this collaborative activity, the participants worked toward the formulation of a responsive, inclusive, and evidence-based multi-sectoral plan that reflected the needs, priorities, and aspirations of the people of Barangay Babag.
