STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE 2026 MIGRANT FAIR
We had the privilege of attending the Coordinators Meeting for the 2026 Migrant Fair as the PESO Manager and Migrant Desk Officer of the City Government of Laoag, and as the President of the Migrant Desk Officers of Ilocos Norte.
The meeting served as a meaningful venue to discuss the plans and preparations for the upcoming Migrant Fair Caravan, define the roles of partner agencies and local government units, and strengthen our collective efforts in providing responsive services and support to our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), their families, and prospective migrants.
The City Government of Laoag, under the leadership of our Alisto Mayor, Hon. James Bryan Alcid, continues to support initiatives like this in recognition of the invaluable contributions of our many OFWs from Laoag City and the significant role they play in the growth and betterment of our local government and community.
Present during the meeting were representatives from various national government agenciesโ PhilHealth, DSWD, BI, DOH, OWWA, DMW, CFO, DTI, PagIbig, to name a few โwho shared their respective roles, discussed the conduct of the Migrant Fair Caravan, and presented the programs and services they can extend to our migrant communities.
Through stronger partnerships and shared commitment, we continue to build meaningful programs that promote the welfare, protection, and empowerment of our migrant workers.
At the end of the meeting, we captured a memorable group photo โ and we couldnโt resist adding a little fun by posing with the different hand symbols representing each national government agency present.
Together, we move forward in creating a more responsive and service-oriented Migrant Fair for our Laoaguenos.
