MAYOYAO, Ifugao โ The Municipality of Mayoyao celebrated its 101st Founding Anniversary on June 1, 2026, at the Mayoyao Municipal Gym, highlighting messages of unity, resilience, and local economic empowerment.
In his keynote message, Mayor Hon. Jimmy Padchangan Jr. emphasized the importance of continuing the legacy of the townโs ancestors by sustaining efforts toward progress for present and future generations. He underscored the LGUโs investment in establishing the municipalityโs own Pasalubong Center as a strategic move to strengthen the local economy.
The mayor also encouraged pensioners and residents to support local entrepreneurs by buying and investing within Mayoyao, stressing that circulating money within the community helps build economic resilience. He further introduced the development vision โMayoyao has the BEAT โ Build, Empower, Activate, and Transform,โ as a guiding framework for local development.
A keynote speech delivered by DTI CAR Regional Director Atty. Raymond G. Panhon through DTI Ifugao Provincial Director, Engr. Francis D. Pacio, highlighted national support for local enterprise development. PD Pacio discussed the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program under Republic Act, which provides market access and support services for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He noted that the initiative serves as a bridge for local producers to reach wider markets and improve product competitiveness.
He thanked the LGU of Mayoyao for establishing the OTOP store and supporting the Negosyo Center, as well as local MSME producers for continuously developing their products. He encouraged entrepreneurs to continue improving their goods to meet changing consumer preferences, emphasizing that community support through local purchasing and referrals is vital, especially in times of economic challenges.
In his closing message, Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Clarence L. Lichen called for unity amid limited local employment opportunities. He urged residents to stand together in building a better future for Mayoyao, stressing the importance of resilience in transforming the town for the next generation.
The celebration also marked the opening of the Mayoyao Pasalubong Center, envisioned to support local MSMEs and promote locally made products as part of the municipalityโs continuing economic development efforts.
