The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 1 successfully conducted its Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony under the supervision of Acting Regional Director FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR.

The ceremony served as a meaningful occasion for all personnel to reaffirm their commitment to public service, discipline, patriotism, and the core values of the Bureau. It also strengthened unity and dedication among personnel as they continue to carry out the mandate of ensuring public safety and fire protection.

Serbisyong hindi lamang sa oras ng sunog,
kundi pati sa pangangalaga sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng komunidad.

Noong Abril 29, 2026, nagsagawa ang OPFM-Ilocos Sur ng Community Relations Program at “OPLAN TULI” sa Gregorio del Pilar, Ilocos Sur, katuwang ang lokal na pamahalaan at Municipal Health Office.

Nagsagawa rin ng fire safety lecture para sa mga mag-aaral at namahagi ng coloring sets bilang munting handog sa kabataan.

Samantala, 23 batang lalaki ang nabigyan ng libreng tuli sa pangunguna ng mga BFP nurses at Municipal Health Office.

Patuloy na pinatutunayan ng Bureau of Fire Protection na ang tunay na serbisyo ay may malasakit at pagmamahal sa komunidad.

At sa bawat pusong naaabot ng kabutihan,
mas pinagtitibay ang isang Alisto’t Nagkakaisang Rehiyon Uno.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office 1 successfully conducted its Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony under the leadership of our Acting Regional Director, FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR, together with the officers and personnel of BFP Region 1.

The ceremony was highlighted by the inspiring message of the Troop Information and Education Speaker, FCINSP EDWIN C OREJUDOS, Chief of the Fire Safety Enforcement Division of BFP Region 1. In his message, he emphasized that true satisfaction does not come from achieving everything we desire, but from realizing that we already possess more blessings than we once prayed for. He encouraged everyone to remain grateful, content, and steadfast in their service while continuously striving for personal and professional growth.

Likewise, our Acting Regional Director, FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR, reminded all personnel that genuine fulfillment is rooted in satisfaction and contentment. He emphasized the importance of appreciating what we have while remaining committed to excellence, discipline, and dedicated public service.

As the ceremony concluded, all personnel were reminded to carry the values of gratitude, humility, contentment, and dedication in the fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities as public servants committed to protecting lives and properties.

Upon the instruction of the Officer-in-Charge of the Bureau of Fire Protection, FCSUPT WILBERTO RICO NEIL A KWAN TIU, the BFP Region 1, under the strong leadership of Acting Regional Director FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR, immediately deployed the BFP Region 1 Special Rescue Force Team to augment the ongoing search, rescue and retrieval operations at the collapsed under-construction 9-storey building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.

Demonstrating unwavering commitment, courage and operational readiness, BFP Region 1 promptly responded by providing additional manpower, equipment and technical rescue capabilities in support of the ongoing emergency response efforts.

As the lead agency in fire and emergency response, the Bureau of Fire Protection, in close coordination with partner agencies and responding units, continues to conduct relentless and sustained operations on the ground to ensure immediate assistance, rapid response and the safety of all affected individuals.

Equipped, highly trained and always mission-ready, BFP Region 1 remains steadfast in its commitment to protect lives, uphold public safety and serve communities during times of crisis and emergencies.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Region I, under the leadership of FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR, formally conducted an Entrance Conference for Calendar Year 2026 with the Commission on Audit represented by Atty. May Angelica M. Teneza, State Auditor IV, as Team Leader.

In his message he emphasized that the audit process is an essential mechanism in strengthening public accountability and ensuring the prudent, efficient and effective utilization of government resources. He further encouraged all concerned personnel to extend full cooperation to the Audit Team through the timely submission of accurate reports and documentary requirements, consistent with the Bureau’s commitment to professionalism and responsible governance.

The activity served as a formal venue to welcome the Audit Team and to discuss the objectives and audit procedures relative to the conduct of the audit engagement. It likewise reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, sound financial management and strict adherence to existing government accounting and auditing laws, rules and regulations.

The Bureau likewise recognized the vital role of the Commission on Audit in promoting integrity and excellence in public service. Through continued collaboration and mutual cooperation, BFP Region I remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and responsive public service for the benefit of the Filipino people.

Monday Flag Raising Ceremony: A Testimony of Faith, Resilience, and Hope

The Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office 1 held its Monday Flag Raising Ceremony under the leadership of our Acting Regional Director, FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR.

The highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring message delivered by our Troop Information and Education speaker, FSINSP CIARA LEY L CAPULE, Municipal Fire Marshal of Agoo Fire Station, La Union.

In her heartfelt testimony, she shared her journey of overcoming life’s hardships and personal struggles. As the breadwinner of her family, she faced numerous challenges, but through unwavering faith in God, perseverance, and determination, she was able to rise above adversity and achieve success.

She reminded everyone that life does not come with a rewind button. While we cannot undo the difficulties of the past, we can choose how we respond to them. Just as firefighters are trained to confront emergencies with courage and composure, we too must face life’s trials with resilience and hope.

In closing, she left everyone with this powerful message:

“A life without disaster does not necessarily make life easy to live, for it is through life’s challenges that we become resilient enough to rescue ourselves from distress.”

As part of the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 1’s continuing commitment to community service, the proceeds from the “Run for Safety: A Fun Run for a Cause”, held during this year’s Fire Prevention Month celebration, were formally turned over to the Home for Girls in Agoo, La Union, the official beneficiary of the event.

Led by our Acting Regional Director, FSSUPT ANTONIO N RAZAL JR, officers and personnel of BFP Region 1 personally visited the institution to deliver the assistance and spend meaningful moments with the young residents.

This initiative reflects the Bureau’s dedication not only to promoting fire safety and prevention, but also to uplifting communities and extending hope to those who need it most. Through the collective efforts of everyone who joined the fun run, each step taken became a step toward making a positive difference in the lives of these young girls.
