John Botiwey brings with him 18 years of dedicated public service, marked by consistent and impactful leadership across various roles. Having served as Municipal Councilor from 1992 to 1995, 1995 to 1998, 2013 to 2016, 2019 to 2021, and currently from 2022 to the present, as well as Vice Mayor from 1998 to 2001, his legacy is built on long-term commitment and deep experience in governance. His service extends beyond elected office—he previously worked as Cashier I at DENR-CAR, served as Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Bayan representing the Kabataang Barangay, and held leadership positions as the PAG-ASA Youth Movement Provincial Federation President and the K.B. Municipal Federation President.
In his current term as Municipal Councilor, he stands as the second most productive legislator in La Trinidad—proof of his continued relevance, hard work, and deep understanding of lawmaking. His legislative accomplishments reflect his deep concern for social welfare, infrastructure, agriculture, public safety, and economic development. He authored ordinances that regulated the employment of minors, created a Women's Development Code, and provided educational and burial assistance to barangay officials. Environmentally, he spearheaded the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Ordinance in 1998, one of the first of its kind nationwide. His agricultural legislation in 2024 institutionalized programs for farmer support and biosecurity, reinforcing La Trinidad’s identity as an agricultural hub.
In the field of trade and public services, he implemented ordinances to regulate public market operations, rename government facilities for clarity and branding, and support economic enterprises. He also initiated laws banning modified mufflers, regulating knuckle weapons, and enhancing public safety. His youth-focused efforts include creating the Youth Development Council of La Trinidad and promoting tourism through farmer-centered programs.
Botiwey has rightfully earned the title “Mr. Initiatives,” having brought in the highest volume of external funds and development projects among La Trinidad officials. These include the Cutflower Collection and Packing Center in Lubas, a concrete footbridge in Talinguroy, and an ambulance donation through the PCSO. He also facilitated multimillion-peso flood control and water supply projects, school infrastructure, and financial aid for various sectors—all sourced from national agencies, party-list representatives, and senators such as Imee Marcos and Sonny Angara.
As he continues his campaign for mayor, John Botiwey’s platform reflects his forward-thinking and practical governance style. He prioritizes agricultural modernization through digital tools and farmer support, the transformation of communal forests into eco-tourism sites, and the expansion of solid waste solutions. In peace and order, he plans to establish a centralized monitoring center with CCTV coverage in all 16 barangays. His vision for education and disaster resilience includes household-level training and community readiness. Emphasizing modernization, he advocates for full digitalization of government services, including Smart Governance Dashboards and a Digital ID System for La Trinidad residents.
With a track record of meaningful accomplishments, a strong legislative foundation, and an unwavering dedication to service, John Botiwey stands firm in his commitment to a better, more progressive La Trinidad—one that serves every household, uplifts the local economy, and paves the way for smart, sustainable development.
