As the extended MRSIA and Vitamin A campaign officially wraps up today, September 4, 2026, the Baguio-Benguet Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO) extends its deepest appreciation to all our dedicated deployment human resources for health (HRH), local health workers, barangay and municipal partners across the province. Through rainy days and challenging terrains, your unwavering service successfully brought life-saving protection to our y-Benguet children. We also salute the parents and guardians who prioritized their children’s wellness during this drive. As we officially transition back to routine immunization services, the PDOHO remains committed to strengthening primary care networks across all Barangay Health Stations and Rural Health Units (RHUs). Let us sustain this momentum and continue working together for a healthier, vaccine-protected, and resilient Benguet! 🏔️🛡️❤️

DENGUE CASES UPDATE MW 34 | For the period August 23-26, 2026 (Morbidity Week 34), there were 45 dengue cases newly recorded in the province of Benguet which bring to a total of 1,713 from January 4 to August 29, 2026, 25% higher compared to the 1,365 cases monitored on the same period in CY2025. One (1) death was recorded in the municipality of Itogon.

Data from the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit show that the municipality of Itogon still has the highest case with 585 followed by the municipalities of Tuba and Atok with 349 and 194, respectively. Tuba recorded a 421% increase compared to the same period in CY2025 which only had sixty-seven (67) cases. The municipality of Atok has a 288% increase which only had fifty (50) cases at the same period.

The public is urged to be cautious and avoid mosquito bites this rainy season. Practice the 4S Strategy Kontra Dengue:

1. SEEK EARLY CONSULTATION | Consult your nearest healthcare center for proper medical treatment and advice when symptoms such as fever, headache, joint and muscle pains, diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, and or rashes are observed or experienced;

2. SEARCH AND DESTROY MOSQUITO BREEDING SITES | Check your surroundings for stagnant waters and clean these areas to prevent mosquitoes to breed and multiply. Practice 4Ts: TAOB, TAKTAK, TUYO, TAKIP;

3. SELF-PROTECTION | This rainy season, wear long-sleeved clothing, and use insect sprays, insect repellants, mosquito nets, and window screens; and

4. SUPPORT FOGGING/SPRAYING DURING OUTBREAKS.
