March 24, 2026 | Punong Barangays from across the province gathered for the “Barangay Kamustahan: An Orientation on Barangay Development and Governance” conducted by the Liga ng mga Barangay–Benguet Chapter at the Benguet Sports Complex Gymnasium, Wangal, La Trinidad.

The activity served as a continuing orientation and dialogue platform for barangay leaders as frontliners in local governance, focusing on community concerns, policy updates, and emerging development challenges affecting their respective barangays.

Orientation sessions were delivered by invited resource speakers including Ms. Lailani A. Cortez, OIC PARPO II of the Department of Agrarian Reform–Benguet, who discussed the operational guidelines and functions of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC), and Ms. Daisy A. Payang, Provincial Director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government–Benguet, who led the DILG Hour.

In the afternoon, a wellness program was conducted, providing medical and other basic health services to participants in support of the province’s vision of a Healthier Benguet.

Also in support to this activity were Governor Melchor Diclas - Benguet with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, Liga ng mga Barangay President Hon. Oliver K. Paus, and Hon. Johannes A. Amuasen.

30th Regular (5th Out-of-Town) Meeting of the 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Benguet was held on March 16, 2026, at Bobok-Bisal, Bokod, Benguet. The meeting was presided over by Hon. Marie Rose T. Fongwan-Kepes, Provincial Vice Governor and Presiding Officer.
LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS TAKEN DURING THE REGULAR MEETING:

I. ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS APPROVED ON ITS 3RD AND FINAL READING:
1. Provincial Ordinance No. SP12-20, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE STRENGTHENING THE COFFEE INDUSTRY IN THE PROVINCE OF BENGUET, PROVIDING SUPPORT MECHANISMS, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES." 2. Bakun Municipal Ordinance No. 04-2026, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE POLICY GUIDELINES ON THE PROPER MANAGEMENT, REPAIR, AND MAINTENANCE OF SERVICE VEHICLES OWNED BY THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF BAKUN, BENGUET," subject to amendment of section 5.

SP Conducts Writeshop on Proposed Amendments to Benguet Revenue Code
Committee on Ways and Means spearheaded a writeshop on the proposed amendment of the 2023 Revised Revenue Code of the Province of Benguet on March 11, 2026, focusing on the presentation of proposed amendments from concerned offices and the technical discussion and harmonization of proposed fees and charges.
The activity was facilitated by Committee on Ways and Means Chairperson Hon. Thomas K. Wales Jr., with the support of Committee Member Hon. Romeo K. Salda. Also present were Hon. Oliver K. Paus, Hon. Johannes A. Amuasen, Hon. Lady Charmaine S. Molintas-Likigan, and Hon. Jim G. Botiwey.
Participating in the writeshop were representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Budget Office (PBO), Provincial Accounting Office (PAccO), Provincial Legal Office (PLO), Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), Benguet Technical School, Benguet General Hospital, Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAssO), Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET), and staff of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
