The Bureau of Fire Protection Region IX, under the strong leadership of FCSUPT JERRY DUHINA CANDIDO, DSC โ€“ Regional Director, and under the supervision of FSUPT LUCIO P. ALBARACIN, DSC โ€“ Provincial Fire Marshal, in coordination with the active Shift B personnel of the Kumalarang Municipal Fire Station led by SFO3 Karolyn V Macabada โ€“ Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted Fire Truck Visibility and Recorida at Kumalarang Integrated Bus Terminal.

This activity is part of the Bureauโ€™s ongoing initiatives to strengthen public safety during the Holy Week, a time characterized by increased travel and large public gatherings. The deployment of uniformed personnel in key areas enhanced alertness, improved response readiness, and contributed to a stronger sense of security among both residents and travelers.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Region 9, under the leadership of ๐…๐‚๐’๐”๐๐“ ๐‰๐„๐‘๐‘๐˜ ๐ƒ๐”๐‡๐ˆ๐๐€ ๐‚๐€๐๐ƒ๐ˆ๐ƒ๐Ž, ๐ƒ๐’๐‚, Regional Director, and the supervision of ๐…๐’๐”๐๐“ ๐‹๐”๐‚๐ˆ๐Ž ๐ ๐€๐‹๐๐€๐‘๐€๐‚๐ˆ๐, ๐ƒ๐’๐‚, Provincial Fire Marshal of Zamboanga del Sur, through the personnel of Kumalarang Municipal Fire Station led by ๐’๐…๐Ž3 ๐Š๐š๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ง ๐• ๐Œ๐š๐œ๐š๐›๐š๐๐š, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, responded to a medical emergency at Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

A Basic Firefighting Training was conducted at the MDRRMO Kumalarang, which included field exercises as part of the practical application of fire response techniques. During the field exercise, one participant experienced dizziness and weakness. Immediate assessment was conducted by the responding personnel. First aid was provided and the patient was assisted to a safe area to rest.

The patient was advised to seek further medical evaluation at the nearest health facility.

This activity is part of the Bureauโ€™s ongoing initiatives to strengthen public safety during the Holy Week, a time characterized by increased travel and large public gatherings. The deployment of uniformed personnel in key areas enhanced alertness, improved response readiness, and contributed to a stronger sense of security among both residents and travelers.

During the operation, BFP personnel were assigned to strategic locations to observe their surroundings, detect possible fire hazards, and ensure adherence to established safety protocols. They also interacted with the public by sharing fire safety information, raising awareness on emergency preparedness, and reinforcing important precautionary measures. Emphasis was given to maintaining vigilance, encouraging the immediate reporting of incidents, and ensuring proper coordination with emergency responders.

In addition, the activity reinforced the partnership between the fire service and the community, promoting trust, cooperation, and a collective responsibility in preserving peace and safety. The Personnel Visibility Operation also demonstrated the preparedness, commitment, and professionalism of BFP personnel in protecting lives and property, particularly during high-activity periods such as Holy Week.

Through OPLAN SEMANA SANTA LAKBAY ALALAY 2026, the Bureau continues to affirm its dedication to providing timely, dependable, and effective public service, ensuring a safe, orderly, and meaningful observance of the Lenten season for everyone.
