AUGUST 29, 2025:

On this day, PESO-Kolambugan turned the hopes of the 80 beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students ( SPES ) into a reality as DOLE Lanao del Norte and the PESO of Kolambugan jointly conducted the SPES Payout held at the Kolambugan Civic Center.

The event highlighted the release of beneficiaries’ compensation with 40% . share from DOLE and 60% cost-shared by LGU-Kolambugan. Each beneficiary is entitled of receiving a P9,000 plus compensation that covered 20-day working period.

The dynamic Local Chief Executive, Hon. Lorenzo V. Mañigos remarked his full support for the SPES signifying his positive response for the immediate release of LGU funds to meet the 100% compensatory provision to the 80 SPES beneficiaries on the similar date of release of DOLE-LDN’s share. Mayor Iyoy reassured that SPES will continue its implementation on an annual basis with additional pledge in the next year to come.

The Hon. Vice Mayor Angelo S. Completado together wit the Sangguniang Bayan Members of Kolambuganextended their undeniably legislative support for the SPES’ policy requirements.

PESO Manager - Designate EnP Arlet E. Legaspi, MPA pointed out that PESO Kolambugan responsively strategized ways to fast track the documentary requirements for the realease of LGU-Kolambugan share that was realized in less than a week. The teamwork extended by the PESO- Kolambugan staff namely Rhey Prieto, Naomie S. Macarambon, GIPsKaren and Georgene together with the Accounting Office, Treasurer’s Office, Budget Office VMO-SBO, MPDO, LYDO and Tourism Office contributed to the success of the activity.

Ms.Sittie Hayna Andig, JD, the Supervising Labor and Employment Officer IiI of DOLE-LDN stresed-out in her message, the importance of established support system for a program to sustain. She added to utilized the money received by students into its best use.

Sangguniang Bayan Members Ruben A. Martinez and Vennice Grace P. Barredo also graced the activity extending their continued support for the program.

An advocacy campaign on Financial Literacy Program shed light to the event as students were given the awareness on the importance of saving money by the Branch Manager of Cebuana Lhullier-Kolambugan, Mr. John Rey Genobaten.

The acivity went well and SPES beneficiaries went home not with heavy hearts but fulfilled spirits.

This day, August 26,2025, PESO Kolambugan set forth a fruitful day as the
preparatory activities for the SPES Pay-out was initiated by the PESO Kolambugan workforces led by the PESO Manager -designate EnP Arlet E. Legaspi with the support of the PESO Focal Mr. Rhey Prieto , PESO Staff Naomie S. Macarambon together with GIP’s Karen Joy dela Peña and Goerget Labrador.

The SPES Pay-out is hoped to be delivered this August 29, 2025 at the Kolambugan Civic Center,Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte from 9:00 in the morning onwards to the 80 beneficiaries.

August 11-13, 2025

PESO Kolambugan participated the Mid-year Performance Assessment ( MYPA) of Northern Mindanao’s pool of PESO Managers held at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. Remarkable insights highlighted DOLE’s program that included the PESO Core Services to wit:

1. Labor Market Information
2. Referral and Placement
3. Employment Coaching and Counselling
4. Livelihood Assustance

Programs relative to Migrant Workers were also highlighted by the Regional Director of the Department of Migrant Workers -Reginal Field Office 10.

The gathering became an array of refreshed learnings, take-off points for the next six (6) months of targets to accomplish, a venue of reconnected acquaintances and strengthening institutional foundation like that of the Lanao del Norte and Iligan City PESO Managers Federation ( LNIC-PEMAF). Most of all, building the group’s rapport and camaraderie.

Looking forward to the upcoming National PESO Congress.

Meeting with DOLE -LDN Personnel graced by Ms.Amima Cosain with PESO and MSWDO of Kolambugan to tackle matters concerning the occurence of child labor in the locality.

Present during the meeting were DOLE representative Amima Cosain with another colleague, acting MSWDO Janice Papandayan, PESO Manager Arlet E. Lefaspi, PESO Focal Rhey Prieto and GIP Karen dela Peña. The said gathering openned the venue for a collaborative and defined setting of parameters in the identification of child labor cases in the locality the hoped to align measurable indicators from DOLE with that of DSWD.

PESO-Kolambugan headed by EnP Arlet E. Legaspi with its focal Mr. Rhey Prieto and colleague Ms Naomie Macarambon actively participated the 3rd Quarterly Meeting of Lanao del Norte Lanao del Norte -Iligan City PESO Managers Federation held at the Municipality of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte.

Important agenda relative to employment facilitation were deliberated. It was then that PESO Manager Legaspi was elected as the new Vice -President of LNIC-PEMAF.

These are new beginnings for facing come back challenges. The said meeting brought old acquiantances and bring new faces.

July 22, 2025:

The Provincial Director of DOLE -Lanao del Norte Ma’am Criste Perfecto visited PESO-Kolambugan to have a courtesy call with our Local Chief Executive, Hon. Lorenzo V. Mañigos. Initial discussions were made relative to SPES, TUPAD and livelihood undertakings.

This became a worthwhile engagement for employment facilitation that’s reconnected.
