It is super okay to not be okay. Not because you should suppress what you feel, but because sometimes, you have to let yourself feel the pain, the anger, the frustration, and even the disappointment.

You’re allowed to fall apart, to fail, and to feel shattered. Just don’t lose yourself while going through it.

Feel it, cry if you need to, let it hurt, and when you’re ready, let it go.

One day, you’ll look back and say,

World Day Against Trafficking in Persons | July 30

Human trafficking doesn't just exploit vulnerability—it is driven by systemic demand and profitable exploitation.

Globally, children make up 38% of detected trafficking victims, increasingly targeted and groomed through digital spaces.

Stairway’s film Red Leaves Falling confronts this urgent reality, tracing the online and offline exploitation of two sisters in real time. Used in Stairway’s professional child protection training, the film exposes how technology, vulnerability, and demand intersect to fuel modern exploitation.

This , as global efforts unite against technology-enabled trafficking, we must look beyond vulnerability and hold accountable the individuals, networks, and systems that profit from child exploitation.

Strengthening partnerships starts with meaningful conversations.

Earlier today, the Kalibo Population and Gender Office had the opportunity to attend the Kalibo Association of Barangay Secretaries Meeting to provide updates on our key Population and Gender and Development (GAD) programs and initiatives.

Among the matters discussed were the Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM) status, the upcoming GABAY Pamilya Sessions in Child Development Centers (CDCs), and the Healthy Young Ones (HYO) Sessions for young people in our barangays. We also provided updates on the preparations for the 4th Bagong Kalibo Search for Best Barangay VAWC Desk, as well as important reminders on the submission of the 2027 Barangay Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget and the 2025 Barangay GAD Accomplishment Report.

To further strengthen the implementation of population and GAD initiatives at the grassroots level, we encouraged our Barangay Secretaries to never hesitate to reach out to our office for mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance whenever needed.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the Association of Barangay Secretaries of Kalibo for giving the Kalibo Population and Gender Office the opportunity to share our programs and initiatives. Through strong collaboration and continuous capacity-building, we move closer to building informed, empowered, and gender-responsive communities for every Kalibonhon. 💙💛

Empowering our barangays, one coaching session at a time.

Building a gender-responsive community starts with empowering our local leaders. The Kalibo Population and Gender Office recently conducted a Mentoring and Coaching Session on the Implementation of the Gender and Development (GAD) Budget for Barangay Bakhaw Sur, equipping barangay officials with practical guidance on planning and utilizing their GAD budget to create programs that truly respond to the needs of every member of the community.

A heartfelt thank you to Punong Barangay Hon. Bernabe S. Aquino for his leadership and unwavering support, and to VAWC Officer and Sangguniang Barangay Kagawad Hon. Cesarlyn Catapia for championing gender-responsive initiatives in Barangay Bakhaw Sur.

Through collaboration, continuous learning, and shared commitment, we move one step closer to creating communities where everyone—regardless of gender, age, or circumstance—can thrive, participate, and feel safe.

Grade 12 students of the Regional Science High School for Region VI participated in "MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY: A Mental Health & Life Readiness Session," a mental health awareness activity conducted by the Local Government Unit of Kalibo through the Kalibo Population and Development Office.

Implemented under Kahayag ag Pagea-um (Light and Hope): The Municipal Mental Health, Well-being and Su***de Prevention Convergence Program of Kalibo, the session equipped learners with practical knowledge on mental health, emotional well-being, su***de prevention, and help-seeking, while promoting a safe and supportive school environment.
