KABUGAO, APAYAO || Forty-nine (49) enlisted personnel of the 98th Infantry “MASINAG” Battalion, Philippine Army, formally donned their new ranks from Private First Class (PFC) to Corporal (CPL) during a Donning of Ranks Ceremony held on May 22, 2026 at the Headquarters of the 98IB, Old Capitol Building, Barangay Poblacion, Kabugao, Apayao.

5ID⭐️ @ 45 | The 5th Infantry "Star" Division, Philippine Army (5ID) marked its 45th Founding Anniversary with a program graced by Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz in Upi, Gamu, Isabela, on May 15, 2026.

Anchored on the theme “Modernizing Forces, Strengthening External Security,” the celebration highlighted the Division’s continuing commitment to enhancing operational capability, territorial defense, and peace and development efforts in Northern Luzon.

The event also underscored the improving security landscape in Northern Luzon, with Region II now declared insurgency-free following the significant degradation of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) through sustained military operations, strong LGU partnerships, and whole-of-nation collaboration.

Joint Task Force Tala successfully conducted a two-day Senior Leaders Forum and Senior NCO Leaders Forum held from May 13 to 14, 2026. The Senior Leaders Forum was held at Padiernos Hall while the Senior NCO Leaders Forum was conducted at Manayao Hall.

𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗢, 𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗢|| Isa sa mga naging tampok na bahagi ng idineklarang State of Stable Internal Peace and Security ng lalawigan ng Apayao ang pagbibigay ng mahigit sa 𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙖 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙗𝙤 sa tatlong dating miyembro ng New People's Army na boluntaryong nagbalik-loob sa pamahalaan.

Ang naturang financial assistance na ipinagkaloob ay mula sa ilalim ng programa ng lalawigan na Celebrating Oneness, Progress and Unrelenting Nationalism (COPUN), na naglalayong isulong ang kapayapaan at mapabilis ang reintegrasyon ng mga dating rebelde sa lipunan.

Kabilang sa mga sumuko ang isang mag-asawa na matagal nang nakapaloob sa kilusang NPA at kumikilos sa bulubunduking bahagi ng Cordillera.

Ang COPUN ay bahagi ng mas pinalawak na kampanya ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Apayao na inisyatiba ni Governor Ellias C Bulut Jr upang hikayatin ang mga natitirang rebelde na sumuko, bigyan sila ng panibagong pagkakataon, at itaguyod ang pangmatagalang kapayapaan at kaunlaran sa rehiyon.

Kabugao, Apayao|| The Province of Apayao reached a historic milestone following its official declaration under a State of Stable Internal Peace and Security, recognizing the province’s sustained peace, strengthened security efforts, and successful collaboration among government agencies, security forces, local leaders, and communities.

A significant highlight of the event was the signing of the Pledge of Commitment, symbolizing the unified support and continued cooperation among government agencies, security sectors, local government units, and community stakeholders in sustaining peace, security, and development initiatives in Apayao.
