EXAMPLE:

Problem(s)/Concern(s): There are individuals that have no birth certificates or with erroneous birth certificate details which are mostly from rural areas. Later, when they work, they need to provide SSS, PHIC, HDMF and TIN. To obtain these IDs, a birth certificate is necessary. Sometimes, for whatever reasons, others may obtain these IDs without the birth certificate. However, like in SSS, when an individual retires, the birth certificate is being required to validate the identity in order for him or her to process his/her retirement benefits.

On the employer side, if the employee can't register with these offices, the complete benefits cannot be provided. With this, the employees are deprived of the benefits and worst the employers are penalized for not giving these mandatory benefits. If the employers strictly follow the rule that they will not hire an employee without registration from these government agencies, does this mean that these individuals without birth certificates can't work?

Possible Law/Solution(s):

A law that:
1. will hasten the processing of the birth certificate but without compromising the security as to identity theft or some risks involved due to less stringent requirements.

2. will provide assistance to this kind of individuals to solve this issue such as making it accessible to them even if they are from rural areas.

3. will subsidize the cost of the processing.

4. ?

Possible Benefit(s):

1. Address the issue of those without birth certificates or incorrect birth records.

2. This can help strengthen the national identification of the population in the country.

3. ?

Possible Threat(s)/Disadvantage(s):
1. Risk of Identity Theft

2.?

Is this a valid PLEA? Are there any laws about this already? What are your thoughts on this matter?

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country" is a quote from John F. Kennedy, the former president of the United States of America. It was a call to action, urging citizens to prioritize civic engagement and service over simply expecting benefits from the government.

Is this applicable in the Philippines?

What if like this? "Ask what you can do for your country that your country can do for you?"

Our country has a government. Our government is being run by the politicians that we elect. We are governed by laws and these politicians create and help in the implementation of these laws. Thus, it is vital to provide these politicians the relevant information that they may not be aware or may not have given priority.

In this little way of creating a page and/or a group that will focus on matters that need attention by the government or by the elected politicians, I hope this can help improve our country. As a citizen, we can contribute something here. Whatever is your status, whatever sector your are in, most likely than none, you have something you could say that this is worth the attention of our politicians and/or government. Either it is for a new law that needs to be passed, a law that has to be revised or amended, or a law that has to be implemented strictly.

We have to understand though that not all that we believe that there is a need for attention will be worth a new law or a revision of a law. Like for every change, in every law there are pros and cons. It might benefit a few but disadvantageous to most or the other way around. However, this may be validated if a lot of the citizens would agree. The voice of democracy or the demand of the citizens affects the decision of our government. In this information age and with the social media, news travels in seconds and reaches nationwide and even worldwide.

Thus, it is high time to create an avenue that focuses on these matters.

Hope this helps and if it does, maybe, this can be replicated in the LGU level to help the SB and councilors in the municipal and city level in crafting ordinances and guide the mayor for the implementation of the ordinances and laws.
