25 YOUNG SCHOLARS RECEIVE AID FROM ARMY-LED EDUCATION DRIVE IN ISABELA
CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela – Twenty-five scholars, including students from the Agta community, received educational assistance from the 1st Cavalry Company (Separate), Armor Division, Philippine Army during a distribution activity held at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz on May 22.
The assistance was provided under the “Piso Ko Para Sa Kinabukasan Mo Project,” a program aimed at helping underprivileged students continue their education despite financial hardships. Funds for the initiative came from the proceeds of the unit’s “Color Run for a Cause,” organized in partnership with various stakeholders and private organizations.
Among those who participated in the activity were representatives from ACDI-Gamu Branch, PAFCIPIC-Gamu Branch, AFPSLAI-Gamu Branch, DSWD Field Office II, Isabela School of Arts and Trades, TESDA-ISAT, the Philippine National Anti-Crime Group, and Rapido Troopers, who also extended cash assistance and other forms of support to the beneficiaries.
The activity highlighted the military’s recognition of the vital role of the youth in building a stronger and more progressive society. The 1st Cavalry Company said the project seeks to provide hope and opportunities to students determined to finish their education and secure a better future. The youth were likewise encouraged not to let poverty and life’s challenges hinder them from achieving their ambitions.
Meanwhile, scholar Carlette Jhoy Mallavo expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying the program motivates her to persevere and strive harder in her studies.
Furthermore, the 1st Cavalry Company said the initiative demonstrates how collaboration between the military and various sectors of society can help restore hope and create opportunities for young people facing difficult circumstances.
