Historical Milestone: Installation of the First Principal of Alameda National High School
The installation ceremony of Dr. Ricky T. Salabe as the first principal of Alameda National High School marked a defining moment in the school’s history.
For years, the school was only an extension of Igbaras NHS, until Republic Act No. 11090—signed on October 18, 2018, by President Rodrigo Duterte, formally granted independence. This was made through the effort of Hon. Janette Garin, Representative in the First District of Iloilo. In effect, it transformed a small extension school into a full-fledged national high school.
Fast forward to today, June 1, 2026: the installation of Dr. Ricky T. Salabe as the first-ever principal marks the fulfillment of that independence. This milestone bridges the legal foundation of 2018 with the living leadership of 2026. The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests from the Schools Division of Iloilo: Dr. Nestor Paul Pingil, Dr. Rita Bertomo, Sir Michael Tamallana, and administrators from neighboring towns like Dr. Ma. Isabel Serag, Dr. Zaldy Tondo, and Dr. Maribel Lasquite. The presence of Hon. Vicente Escorpion, Jr., Municipal Mayor, alongside Igbaras schools district supervisor Dr. Emmanuel Paguntalan and the administrators of the two secondary schools in Igbaras, Dr. Fortunata Germino and Mary Joy Juaner, underscored the unity and support for Alameda NHS.
This moment is more than ceremonial; it’s symbolic. From being an “extension” to now having its own principal, Alameda NHS has stepped into its rightful place as an independent institution, ready to chart its own path of growth, innovation, and pride.
