๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo, through Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Ajuy, in coordination with the Special Operations Unit (SOU) Northern Iloilo and Marine Environmental Protection Unit (MEP) Iloilo, successfully conducted an Information Drive and Food Pack Distribution at Brgy. Bay-ang Gymnasium, Brgy. Bay-ang, Ajuy, Iloilo, in line with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) iCARE Program and the 125th PCG Founding Anniversary.

The activity benefited forty (40) fisherfolks from the Barangays of Bay-ang and Pedada, Ajuy, Iloilo. The participants were provided with essential information and reminders on maritime safety, preparedness, SSEN system, water safety, and proper waste management. Food packs were likewise distributed as a form of support and assistance to the local fishing community.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the valuable support and cooperation of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Ajuy, CEMPHIL, and the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Bay-ang.

Through this initiative, CGSS Ajuy continues to strengthen its partnership with coastal communities, promote maritime safety and environmental responsibility, and contribute to building a safer, more resilient, and empowered maritime community.

Ga PCG, Acting Station Commander for Administration, CGS Iloilo, and LT Harzeyll P. Yngson PCG, Commander, Maritime Safety and Law Enforcement (MARSLEG), Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV), attended the 3rd Quarter Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC) Meeting held at Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., Santa Barbara, Iloilo, on 27 August 2026.

The meeting was presided over by PLTCOL Engilbert R Banquillo , Deputy Provincial Director for Operation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Iloilo Provincial Police Office, and was attended by representatives from Philippine Army and Philippine Coast Guard.

The meeting focused on the presentation of significant operational accomplishments, updates on maritime safety and security, and other matters concerning peace and security in the Province of Iloilo.

The activity highlights the commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and its partner agencies to strengthen inter-agency coordination and collaboration in promoting peace and security, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of the maritime community.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo initiated the conduct of a Fire Prevention and Firefighting Activity facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection VI (BFP VI) and actively participated in by its Sub-Stations and Operational Control (OPCON) units, today, 24 August 2026, at Coast Guard Station Iloilo, Fort San Pedro, Brgy. Concepcion, Iloilo City.

The activity aimed to enhance the firefighting knowledge, skills, and preparedness of CGS Iloilo personnel in responding to fire emergencies and ensuring the safety of personnel and its facilities.

The activity underscores the Philippine Coast Guardโ€™s commitment to strengthening its operational readiness and promoting fire safety within its areas of responsibility.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo, together with Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Iloilo City, provided security and acted as standby rescuers during the conduct of the 3rd Iloilo City Paddling Festival along the Iloilo River, in front of the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand and Muelle Loney Street, Iloilo City, from 22-23 August 2026.

The activity was organized by the Iloilo Dragons Dragon Boat Club, Inc., the Philippine Paddling Federation, Inc., and the Iloilo City Government, bringing together paddling enthusiasts and participants in a celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community engagement.

CGS Iloilo personnel remained on standby throughout the activity to ensure the safety and security of the participants and spectators and to provide immediate assistance in case of any maritime-related emergency.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to supporting community events and promoting maritime safety through its continuous provision of security, rescue, and emergency response assistance.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Philippine Coast Guard Station Iloilo (CGS Iloilo) Disaster Response Team (DRT) conducted clearing operations at Barangay Rizal, Ibarra, Iloilo City, on 18 August 2026 During the operation, the CGS Iloilo DRT retrieved and transported stockpiled pieces of wood from a stilt house to the designated shoreline disposal area. The activity aimed to clear the affected location, reduce potential safety risks, and prevent the accumulated materials from becoming hazards to residents and the surrounding community.

The clearing operation was carried out in coordination with local authorities and community stakeholders to support the restoration of a safer environment in the affected area.

As part of its continuing efforts to ensure public safety and provide immediate assistance to communities affected by hazards and emergencies, the Philippine Coast Guard remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering timely response, humanitarian assistance, and disaster preparedness measures to safeguard lives, protect property, and strengthen community resilience throughout the country.
