Narvacan, Ilocos Sur– In a thrilling showdown, Zone 5 dominated Zone 4 with a final score of 69–59, showcasing not only individual talent but also remarkable teamwork that left fans on the edge of their seats.

From the opening tip-off, Zone 5 asserted control. JP Cabico led the charge with fearless drives and precise mid-range shots, while Iverson Navarro added speed and agility, slicing through defenders for quick baskets. John Dave Jadormeo kept the momentum alive with clutch plays, maintaining the team’s lead whenever Zone 4 tried to mount a comeback.

Yet it was the dynamic teamwork of Gabriel Ramos, Dave Hagoc, and Renz Isla that truly set Zone 5 apart. Ramos orchestrated the offense with crisp passes and strategic playmaking, while Hagoc’s hustle—grabbing rebounds, diving for loose balls, and applying constant defensive pressure—kept Zone 5 energized. Isla dominated the paint, converting tough shots and securing key offensive boards. Their synergy created seamless offensive sequences and shut down Zone 4’s attempts to reset and regain control.

Zone 4 fought hard, attempting multiple resets and adjusting their strategy throughout the game. However, every effort was thwarted by Zone 5’s consistent teamwork, sharp rotations, and unrelenting pressure. The visiting team could never find a rhythm, leaving them trailing behind the disciplined and coordinated Zone 5 squad.

In the final quarter, Zone 5’s balance of star power and cohesive play sealed the victory. Every possession highlighted the team’s trust and communication, leaving no doubt about their dominance.

Zone 5 secured a dramatic 70-69 victory over Zone 2 on Friday night, surviving a tense final sequence to improve their season standing to 6 wins and 3 losses.

The game remained tight from start to finish, with both teams trading leads and defensive stops throughout the fourth quarter. Zone 2 appeared in control entering the closing seconds—until Zone 5 produced the play that changed everything.

With 10 seconds left, Zone 5 orchestrated one final possession. The ball found its way to Rendon, who rose from beyond the arc and knocked down a clutch three-pointer, flipping the score and silencing Zone 2’s momentum as Zone 5 took a 70-69 lead.

Zone 2 immediately pushed the ball up the floor, determined to reclaim the game. In the final 3 seconds they managed to set up a potential game-winning shot, but the attempt rimmed out as the buzzer sounded, sealing the win for Zone 5.

The victory highlights Zone 5’s growing confidence and ability to execute under pressure, further strengthening their hold on a winning record. Zone 2, meanwhile, is left with a tough loss in a game where every possession mattered.

In a high-stakes basketball clash that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Zone V emerged triumphant over Zone I, 81–76, after an intense and grueling overtime showdown, Oct. 26.

The game was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams trading leads and momentum swinging like a pendulum throughout the four quarters. By the end of regulation, the scoreboard blazed 66-all, forcing an extension that became a true test of endurance, strategy, and heart.

Zone I showed resilience early on, capitalizing on fast breaks and perimeter shooting to challenge Zone V’s defense. But Zone V responded with unyielding determination, disciplined play, and precise ex*****on, refusing to let their rivals seize control and setting the stage for a dramatic overtime climax.

Zone 5 Delegation Marks Strong Presence at Narvacan Sports Festival 2025

NARVACAN, ILOCOS SUR — In a strong display of unity and athletic spirit, the Zone 5 delegation took part in the opening of the Narvacan Sports Festival 2025, the kickoff event of this year’s Narvacan Fiesta celebration. Fifty-one players from the sports disciplines of basketball and volleyball proudly represented the four barangays of Cagayungan, Nanguneg, San Pedro, and Sucoc.

Barangay Cagayungan’s participation was led by Barangay Captain Eduardo Cachero together with the Barangay Council and SK officials under the leadership of SK Chairperson Gabriel Caberto. From Barangay Nanguneg, Captain Nomar Dominguez and SK Chairperson Laurence Cabradilla headed their respective officials and SK members. Barangay San Pedro delegation was represented by Barangay Captain Ernie Molina and SK Chairperson Pau G. Ramirez, while Barangay Sucoc was led by Barangay Captain Ronald Corpuz and SK Chairperson Cherrylyn Estopace, alongside other barangay and SK officials who extended their full support.

The Zone 5 players were guided by their coaches, ensuring smooth coordination and active participation during the festival. Gracing the delegation with elegance and charm was Ms. Ashley Flores of Barangay San Pedro, who served as the official muse of Zone 5.

As the sports festival continues, the Zone 5 delegation extends its invitation to all residents to show their unwavering support in the upcoming matches against other zones. Their participation not only promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship but also embodies the unity and pride of the entire Zone 5 community.
