The **Child Development Workers (CDWs) of Hinatuan** have successfully completed the **1st ECCD Checklist Assessment Period** for our preschool learners.

The ECCD Checklist is a developmental assessment tool used to help monitor and document a child’s development. It looks at important areas of early childhood development, including gross motor, fine motor, self-help, receptive language, cognitive, socio-emotional, and expressive language skills.

Every child grows at their own pace.
Every milestone matters.

Learning through music, play, and meaningful observation! 🎶🎭📚

Day 3 was filled with engaging and practical learning experiences as our Child Development Workers (CDWs) explored motivational songs using thematic approaches, participated in plays integrating the 7 domains of child development, and gained valuable knowledge and skills on proper assessment and observation of young children.

Another meaningful day of strengthening our ECCD service providers—equipping them with effective strategies to make learning more engaging, holistic, and developmentally appropriate for every child.

Day 2 of the National Seminar-Workshop on Early Childhood Education 2026** was filled with meaningful learning, collaboration, and professional growth as our Child Development Workers (CDWs), ECCD Focal Person, DCW1 and Support Staff continued to strengthen their knowledge and skills toward delivering quality Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services.

Today’s session focused on the ECCD curriculum and effective teaching strategies for PRE K-1 & K-2 and ITED , equipping our ECCD service providers with practical approaches to make learning more engaging, responsive, and developmentally appropriate for young children.

The participants also took part in a hands-on workshop on developing weekly learning plans and identifying appropriate activities anchored on the seven domains of child development ensuring that every activity supports the children’s holistic growth and development. 🌱🧠❤️

From learning new strategies to turning them into meaningful classroom experiences, our ECCD service providers continue to **engage, explore, and excel** in their commitment to nurturing every child’s potential. ✨

🌱 Strengthening ECCD Through Internal Assessment 💚

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), through the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program, conducted the 1st Round of Internal Assessment covering 26 Child Development Centers (CDCs) and Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the Municipality of Hinatuan.

Conducted from July 20 to August 5, 2026, the assessment aimed to evaluate the delivery of ECCD services, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and ensure that program standards and activities are effectively implemented.

As part of the MSWDO’s monitoring and supervision, the activity also provided an opportunity to give technical guidance and recommendations to CDWs and identify areas where additional support is needed. The findings will likewise be used to cascade recommendations to barangay officials and strengthen their support and participation in the implementation of the ECCD Program.

The assessment was facilitated by MSWDO Sunrise B. Tumanda, RSW, and ECCD Focal Person Noemi C. Sangkaan, RSW, with the assistance of SFP Focal Kimberly Jean M. Verdeflor and ECCD Support Staff Daylen M. Lindo.

Through continuous assessment, monitoring, and collaboration, the LGU Hinatuan remains committed to strengthening ECCD services and ensuring that every child receives quality care, protection, and opportunities for holistic development. 🌱💚
